We loved this pub! The food was great and the service was great once our server calmed down a bit -the place was crowded! We happen to get a table upstairs where it was more quiet. We ate the watercress and pear salad, Vegetarian Haggis with whisky sauce, fish pie. For drinks we had Loch Lomond silkie stout (which was their house cask ale) and Campervan Leith Pils (which was gluten free) Yes they even had gluten free beer!! We ended with sticky toffee pudding - which was delish! I would definitely go back if I lived in Edinburgh - no wonder the place was packed!

Recommended by a local guide who said it was one of his fave pubs and he wasn’t getting a cheeky backhander!
Had the chowder and sausages and both were amazing quality (so much fish and flavour in the chowder!!!) and such good value.
100% worth a visit. Good value, traditional pub with good food and lovely staff.

Quality food and lots of beer selections.
Fish pie with a creamy dill sauce & puff pasty top - in the picture.
We also had East Coast Haddock, breaded & fried with chips & garden peas - very good.

Ducked in for a quick pint on our bar crawl.. quintessential Brit pub! Great atmosphere (i believe there was some football game today).. great service! Good selection of ales.. definitely worth a check in Edinburgh!

Fantastic pub with an excellent range of ales and quality food. Children allowed upstairs in the gallery. Barman was superb; very dry sense of humour which I really appreciated and a great manner. Will greatly look forward to the next time.

Vi besöker alltid denna pub på våra resor till Edinburgh. Vi hade bokat bord för middag och vid ankomsten gick till baren först för att få en drink och barflickan var så miserble, inte ett enda leende. Lyckligtvis var servitrisen på övervåningen den totala motsatsen annars skulle vi ha gått ut. Hon var mycket vänlig och välkomnande och vi hade en härlig pratstund med henne innan vi lämnade. Hennes kundservice var oklanderlig. När vi gick tillbaka till baren följande dag samma barflicka serverade min man och han sa att hon var mer smiley och vänlig än den gången, så kanske hon bara hade haft en dålig kväll innan, men att arbeta i kundservice själv jag skulle aldrig komma undan med att använda det som en ursäkt för att vara så olycklig. Maten var bra (som vanligt) så vi kommer definitivt tillbaka när vi nästa besök.

Vi har varit i Guilford Arms vid många tillfällen och är alltid imponerad. Personalen, Servicen och maten är alltid förstklassig. Biffen jag åt var en av de bästa jag någonsin ätit. Alla i vårt sällskap på fyra var mer än nöjda med allt. Ett bra utbud av öl också. Personalen klarade sig mycket bra trots att Tatueringen och Fringe var på. Bra gjort mot dem alla.

Besökte denna pub vid tidigare tillfällen. Fantastisk arkitektur, men personalen lite abrupt. Detta är andra gången vi nekas tillträde, av tidsskäl och inte boka i förväg.

Utmärkt måltid, haggis neeps och tatties med utmärkt Service från vår server. Ursäkta, men han var från Orkney. Bra värde för pengarna och skulle starkt rekommendera. Kommer definitivt att vara tillbaka på vår nästa resa till Edinburgh

Härlig mat i en trevlig liten pub strax utanför Princes Street. Jag hade hjortkött som var mycket trevligt på £ 23 : 50 och en pint. Servicen var bra och ganska effektiv trots att den rammade. Skulle definitivt rekommendera för alla som vill ha trevlig hälsosam mat och en pint i Edinburgh centrum.

Bra pub strax utanför Princes street. Det är en stor pub med ett stort utbud av öl. Bar människor är fantastisk och vänlig. Vanliga Edinburgh dryckespriser, men billigare än Cafe Royal intill. Alltid ett nöje att ta en pint eller två här.

Mitt i turistområdet men vi tyckte inte att det var krystat eller turistigt. Det fanns turister men massor av lokalbefolkningen också. Stämningen var bra, service rätt på och mat utmärkt. Mycket glad att vi hittade denna plats. Vi passerade flera packade fällor och hittade denna pärla - så glad att vi gjorde.

Stora gamla pub för en pint under dagen, vi gick också tillbaka på kvällen och fick ett bord på mezzanine våningen som är en stor wee dining spot, mat stor pub grub lagade väl, alla tallrikar var tomma vid återvändandet! Verkar inte ta emot bokningar online eller samma dag bokningar för kväll, tror att du bara måste besöka och ha tur.

Vi återvände till Guildford för ett annat besök och var glada att se att förbättringar hade gjorts efter vårt förra besök. Bar och restaurang personal var mycket trevlig och angelägen om att tjäna oss. Maten var utmärkt och trevlig och varm. Priserna var ganska bra. Vi har haft vår eftermiddag. Guildford är nu tillbaka på vår gå till listan. Bra gjort.
