This was the third and final stop on our Safari Honeymoon and the best was definitely saved for last.

We were following Salt Lick on Facebook before embarking on our journey and it does not do it justice.  The views of the watering hole were out of this world and we were blown away by our lodge on stilts.  It's a veritable paradise.  We were greeted by buffalo having a midnight drink and the next day by the largest amount of elephants we'd ever seen.

We were fortunate to also experience Taita Hills Lodge for lunch and dinner and was absolutely gutted we were only able to stay for one night.

Would highly recommend to anyone looking for the experience of their lives.

The staff were exceptionally friendly. Rooms were perfect and clean. Beds were super comfortable.  Absolutely no complaints. We had a room with a waterhole view. Food was lovely. Safari game drives were out of this world. Samuel, our driver and guide was so informative, friendly, fun and interesting. Nothing was too much trouble. Thankyou from Darren and Sabrina.

Enjoyed the water hole view from the room. The room is very spacious and clean. Staff is very friendly and attentive.  Only downside is you can hear everything in the halls (walking, talking, running) and every meal is buffet style so although there are delicious options, get there early to avoid the crowds at meal times.

We had a great experience at Salt Lick - the particular highlight being the friendly staff as well as the view at dinner and breakfast. We particularly enjoyed seeing the elephants!

Only two things were a problem, firstly the check out process felt much longer and more complicated than other lodges (we were waiting for probably 30 mins in total across the two sites where you have to check in) and secondly the view from our room wasn’t very good - I wouldn’t recommend a “park view” room as the window is tiny.

A truly unique experience. Salt Lick lodge is a must see for one night. Watching the elephants right next to the hotel at the reception area was a highlight. However, out of the five parks we visited we found Taita Hills to have the fewest animals and this was the only safari lodge that we stayed at that did not have a balcony or a view of the watering hole from our room; we only had one small window.
