Setting is lovely and definitely a nice change from the restaurants around the pool. Service was a bit hit or miss. Food is good but not great. They would do well to tone up the sharing plates and rustic curries to stand out from other fine dining options. Bread was great.

Our favorite restaurant at Beachcomber Paradis. We went twice to La Ravanne during our stay to eat Mauritien specialities. I definitely recommend their Samosa trio and the fish Rougaille. The dinner was just perfect and the atmosphere on the beach is  really nice. They have live music as well, which makes the experience even more authentic. Special thanks to Yanesh, our waiter, who took good care of us and was quite generous.

Whilst staying at Dinarobin Golf & Spa Hotel, we took the opportunity of booking a table for dinner at La Ravanne. The venue is right on the beach & there are several tables, all lit up,  under canopies which enhance your dining experience. The food from Chef David was outstanding & he came out of the kitchen to chat with us, sharing how much he enjoys cooking & where he gets his inspiration from. His heart & soul, as well as the whole Team working at La Ravanne were dedicated in making sure your meal was delicious & service was outstanding. What a great night we had & we were even treated to some wonderful traditional Sega music & dancing.

I find myself thinking about this restaurant frequently. It has really good reviews and we were excited to try some Mauritian cuisine. Unfortunately the entire experience seemed reminiscent of a mental asylum or a horror movie. The restaurant is on a stunning beach and it was a moonlit night with a really good live band -  you would expect a fun, lively, loud atmosphere. Instead the tone was silent and geriatric. It was like a stern headmistress sucked the joy out of the place and we were to quietly enjoy the food in pin drop silence and limit ourselves to exactly 5 claps per song  - no more, no less. We felt like we were targets in a horror movie and the food was poisoned. It wasn’t - the food was actually pretty good. We ordered the 7 curries - which was great, except it was very clearly too much for two people. It’s probably a reasonable portion for 4 people or 3 with a very large appetite. They should have shared this with us when we ordered it; my wife is tiny and so it’s quite obvious does not have a large appetite. At the end of the meal, which cost in total around 150 USD, they refused to let us take away the leftovers. It was in equal parts a waste of my money and their (good) food. I can’t really blame a restaurant for their atmosphere but ultimately charging that steep a price and then wasting so much food is quite distasteful.
