Beautiful lookout point with more than a 180 degree view of Cape Town CBD and the harbour. The best starting point is the devil's peak path start. The hike is not challenging but the initial climb can be strenuous. The path is clearly marked on google maps. The recommended route is to reach via Saddle rock and return through the path in the front of the look out point. This return path has a steel descent in the beginning. Be careful in wet conditions as the rocks are slippery. Hiking alone is not recommended.

Very easy hike to a little lookout point. We reached a point where we had to puah through some (Stilbe Vestita) which is a fynbos with sharp needle like leaves that can scratch and cause irritation. Table Mountain is always a good idea to approach with the mentality of safety in numbers.

I personally like this little hike! We usually park at the end of Tafelsig Road, and then walk along the tarred road until just before the gravel path begins. On your right you'll find the steps going up. The path climbs gently and has incredible views of the city and Lions Head almost the entire way to Oppelskop.  Many trail runners use this path, and it's great for dogs too. From Oppelskop you can continue on to Devil's Peak, or continue on the contour path and come down at Platteklip's steps. Easy to moderate hike, depending on your pace.

What a hike . You get the view of the whole    Cape Town and if you lucky like me , you will see rare beautiful flowers .
