Overall a really nice dinner. The menu is seafood focused; with the option to get a wine pairing. There’s somewhere around 8 dishes. You start off with their version of oyster- we had a black pepper and olive oil sauce over the oyster which was amazing, we had to get another round. The tuna carpaccio and octopus salad were both great as well. The mussels in seaweed broth was a miss for me- but that might be my taste. Overall very enjoyable dinner. The space is small, reservations needed. It gets a little loud due to the small space.

We had a fantastic dinner at Galjoen.  It truly
celebrates the sea food from around the Western Cape.  The food is fantastic and the wine selections are good too.  If you love sea food and want the fine dining twist, then Galjoen is a definite must.

It was a really good experience with Galjoen. We did the wine pairing and amazed with the collection. Mu favorite dish was alfredo abalone. Fyi, they have a really great view of table mountain from the 2nd floor!

An incredibly intentional restaurant, where every single little detail has been considered properly, most notably on the plates of food. Nothing pretentious or out of place, everything is perfectly balanced. From the size, shape and colour of the stoneware and cutlery, to the balance of the ingredients and the presence of the FOH staff and Chefs popping by the table - this is truly one of the best dining experiences that Cape Town has to offer. Cannot wait to try their other restaurant, Belly of the Beast!

A nice experience and worth a try when visiting Cape Town. We enjoyed the surprise dishes at the beginning and middle of the course and all the produce was cooked well. Highlight was the swordfish which was perfectly cooked. Some foods were not particularly hot due to the timing of the course but overall, enjoyable. Personally I find the level of service and experience better at the sister restaurant, Belly of the Beast but would recommend this as well.
