Absolute perfection from arrival to departure; the service is great paired with a vibrant and sophisticated upscale fine dining atmosphere. The food is phenomenal. Perfect “hearty” flavours, like a warm hug in a bowl. No need to travel to Japan to taste the best Ramen. You will crave this harmonious blend of flavours long after your bowl is empty. 10/10 in all aspects.

The menu is thoughtfully curated. We tried 2 different ramens, packed with fresh ingredients and crafted with care. Drink wise we ordered cocktails that are on point.

Services was top-notch, friendly and attentive.

Ramenhead – A Unique Ramen Experience 🍜✨

We had a fantastic evening at Ramenhead, and here’s why—along with a small suggestion for improvement.

Service & Atmosphere ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Before diving into the food, I have to highlight the exceptional service. The staff was incredibly attentive and welcoming—everything was on point!

Starters – A Step Above the Usual 🐟🍤🥢

Unlike many other ramen spots, Ramenhead offers a creative selection of starters. In addition to classics like edamame, karaage, and gyoza, you’ll find more refined options such as kingklip, tuna tartare, and Tokyo-style potato salad. The portions aren’t huge, so I recommend sharing 2–3 starters if you’re dining with a friend (and you are both hungry 😋).

Main Course – Tantanmen Perfection 🍜🔥

I had the Tantanmen, which was absolutely delicious! It’s officially “soupless,” but there’s just the right amount of rich, creamy sauce to coat the noodles perfectly. The sesame seeds, Mala spice sauce, and minced chicken create a well-balanced, flavorful dish. If you like it spicier, you can customize it with the seasonings available on the table.

Dessert – A Bit Too Minimal 🍨🤏

The only dessert on the menu was Piña Colada ice cream, served with a crunchy base. While it was clearly homemade, the egg flavor was a bit too pronounced. I personally would have loved one or two additional dessert options to choose from.

Final Verdict 🏆

If you’re looking for top-tier ramen paired with thoughtfully crafted starters, Ramenhead is the place to go. If you enjoy ice cream as a light dessert, you’ll be happy with the current option. Otherwise, I’d love to see the restaurant expand its dessert menu just a little!

One of the best ramen in Cape Town. The restaurant is very nice, with a cool decor. Everything was perfect. Great and professional staff. Recommended

Ramenhead was an experience all around. It offers a nice ambiance no matter if you are eating solo, on a date, or fueling up before a night out.

As a vegetarian there was something that I could eat on every part of the menu. The mushroom gyoza had a great umami flavor and paired well with the 3 flavor additions (a tangy spice blend, chili oil, and a tri-varietal of crushed pepper) placed in the table. The vegetable curry was very filling and had a number of different flavors that hit depending on the bite. The matcha-pineapple mocktail was also very refreshing. And the seasonal dessert was an orange based ice cream that was subtle but delicious.

Finally the staff was exceptional, they were attentive, informative, and always had a smile on their face when they came by.
