You start the Pipe Track at Tafelberg Road and it’s a relaxing walk all along the contour of Table Mountain until you hit Theresa Avenue Jeep Trial.

This is a popular walk and you might also find trail runners doing their morning routine on this route.

It’s ideal for beginners who just walk a bit of mountain experience without any difficult sections and, at the same time, have the experience of being out in a lovely environment.

People are friendly on the walk and because the route is pretty well-marked, it’s not difficult to get lost.

Many routes up Table Mountain have their jumping off point on the Pipe Track.

It's a relatively easy hike with spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean , overlooking Camps Bay and Bakoven. You can also walk your dog/s if you have a permit, which you can get from SANPARKS. When you turn off towards the cable car, the parking lot is immediately on your left. The toilets are also located there but I think it only opens at 8 am.

What a lovely dog friendly trail with the towering side of Table mountain on one side and the vast ocean on the other side.   Many people walked the trail which made us feel safer. It's close to the busy city but you feel totally immersed in the beauty of nature. Always please remember to bring water for your doggies. Part of the trail has shady bits so do finish walk by 10am latest if you bring your woofs along. Lastly, ample parking available at the Table Mountain cable car turn off.

Starting point is just opposite to First parking lots of Table mountain. Easy to spot. It about 5-6 km one way and you can return anytiome you want. There is shade from trees and the mountain. The view is incredible. And there are  pipe along the trail - So it’s called pipe track, I think

Beautiful hike, the trail is abut loose at the moment.

Probably like 2 hours for experienced hikers.

The trail leading up table mountain is currently closed.
