Great high-end Italian restaurant with a nice interior and good food. Service is nice but can be slow. Menu is great but lacks a couple of classic Italian dishes, for example it would have been great to find spaghetti bolognese. Overall a very good experience for the price.

We’ve been regulars at Villa 47 for quite some time, but unfortunately, this last visit left us extremely disappointed. The ambiance and beauty of the restaurant remain top-notch, but the service was far below expectations. This time, our main course was served before the appetizers, which really threw off the entire dining experience. To make matters worse, the server had forgotten our appetizer orders entirely, and we had to remind them halfway through our main course. This lapse in service made the meal feel rushed and uncoordinated. While we’ve always loved the restaurant’s atmosphere and food, it’s clear that attention to service is needed.

The staff is very attentive and friendly.

Pasta is really good here. The Gnocchi with Ragu Sauce were wonderful. Ask for some Parmagiano on top. They come and grate it for you from the actual cheese - very nice.

Seafood pasta was good taste-wise, not great, and one portion had some crushed clam shell in it. Difficult to eat.

My last meal at Villa 47 was very much a story of 2 halves. I had the Octopus carpaccio, which was really good albeit covered in a bit too much sauce, then the crayfish risotto which was also really good. My wife had the beef carpaccio which didn’t really have any flavour, then the grilled fish of the day, Kingclip, which was so overcooked, heavy and leathery it was almost inedible. We did receive an apology but it was not taken off the bill. A good selection of wine by the bottle, reasonably priced, but the selection of wine by the glass is really poor for a place like this. Will definitely go again as the experience is usually better than this visit.

Impressive. The octopus carpaccio is with engine. Also, you can get Italian wines anywhere, be bold and ask for a South African wine. We went with the Cab Franc: Hermanuspietersfontein, delicious.
