One of the best 5 kilometer hikes in the Western Cape if you have kids. Interspersed along the way are Swings, a tree house fantastic coffee shop and lovely trees. A special treat for old and young are the three really big swings in the trees. My kids loved it. Highly recommended.

The shade of the pine trees is thick and refreshing...It motivates a stroll over a million perfectly layered needles like nature's carpet.

Beautiful forest to walk dogs - so many well behaved friendly dogs to meet. There are sometimes horses so be mindful if your dogs aren’t trained, there’s also some water stops for quick swims.

So close to an urban area, yet you can imagine getting lost in this delightful wilderness.

Walking trails are clearly marked and people are generally friendly and respectful.

The the 4km perimeter is ideal for walkers and runners who want to improve their times.

In the minus column, people don't always have control of their non-leashed dogs and the cyclists can sometimes catch you by surprise as they race along the paths.

There has also been terrible crime in the park, so be vigilant.
