Small duck just nice for 2.
Very decent Peking Duck, but we felt the one at SJMF was better.
Sea cucumber prepared table side was delicious, but pricey.
Disappointed when the bill came and was charged a 10% Private Room fee despite sitting in the main dining hall.

I have been recommended to try Dadong at this specific location and it's does not disappoint. The restaurant was very nicely decorated the semi-private dining space was exquisitely designed. Even the toilet was designed with full on amenities.

The menu is like a hard cover picture book, the photos are very nice and this make it very tourist friendly. The also do carried extensive wine and liquor list. We choose a Chinese red wine which turn out to be a good pairing.

The food are nicely plated and delicious. The highlight was the peking duck which I enjoyed. I would recommend to pre-book the duck when making reservation. The duck's condiments plate by itself was a art. The dinner service i found to be above average for fine dining in Beijing.

Price is above average but very affordable for what you get and comparing to other countries.

2017 January, my boyfriend first came and visited China. Uncle and Dad took us to eat Beijing Duck at DA DONG ROAST DUCK 北京大董烤鸭店. It was our the first time having traditional Beijing Duck in China. We arrived the restaurant at 12 pm, and it had already the big lineup. It took us more than 1 hour to wait for the table. The restaurant looked super fancy and cleaned. Customers could take a look at the menu before they got a seat. The menu was super larger with fancy dish pictures, which made customers easier to order the food. The dishes represented more Chinese Culture rather than taste. The prices were super expensive. We ordered all duck dishes. The duck here was quite good, crispier, fresh and tasty, but many of them were quite small, so you should order more dishes if you have a large group. We much enjoyed our duck lunch.  In my opinion, Of course, it’s the best place to take guests who are from other countries.

Up market Peking duck restaurant. Very extensively menu. The menu is as thick as a storybook! Hahahaha. Spoilt for choice!

Good quality food and especially that fish soup we ordered was superb!!
Be warned, it's not cheap here and service was not really that impressive. 1 lady was doing the cleaning and when we asked for the bill, she rushed over to attend to us and the rest of the service staff were talking over at 1 corner!

Then we chanced upon Da Dong fast food chain serving the Peking duck at much lower price if you don't mind the ambience and just want a taste of their duck. Limited menu items of course!

We had a lot of anticipation for this place.
Heard exceptional things about its other branch.

Overall:
Reasonable food for Exorbitant prices.
Recommended for its name, and previous fame, we were excited for our duck which was probably the only that that did deliver.
Duck was well presented and tasty, have not tried with these peking duck condiments before.
Other dishes were ok - can get for same if not better quality for cheaper prices.
Hot dishes were served lukewarm.
Crispy prawns served soft.
Perhaps we expected too much.

If you charge high end prices, adequate service and food is expected.
