Stunning, the entire Park was among the most impressive things I have ever seen. Watching the sunset at the water with views in the palace was absolutely amazing. Climbing the hill and looking at it from all angles is definitely worth it.

Be sure to bring some time, I recommend more than 3 hours because the park is quite big and you don’t want to rush. There weren’t many foreigners so I was catching some stares but everyone was super friendly.

We reached the palace easily by subway, getting off at Beigongmen Station. Entering from the north side, we were immediately captivated by the charming Suzhou Street and the serene Suzhou River, which set the tone for the rest of the visit.

Our journey continued with a climb up many steps to the magnificent Tower of Buddhist Incense, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding area. From there, we wandered down to the famous Long Corridor, marveling at its intricate artwork and details.

One of the highlights was the ferry tour on Kunming Lake, which provided a unique perspective of the palace grounds. The ferry even stops at the iconic Marco Polo Bridge, a picturesque spot that’s worth exploring.

For our final adventure, we climbed to the top of the Tower of Incense, where we were rewarded with an incredible panoramic view of Kunming Lake and the surrounding landscape.

A great place to take a walk even during winter time. The place is huge, therefore a lot of walking should be expected. A nice view of the surrounding landscape when you reach the top of hills. Some areas were more crowded than others.

A wonderful place to visit in during sunrise / sunset, our group was here at sunset during a perfectly clear day so we had the perfect golden sunset falling behind the mountains. The glow lit the palace and water superbly. This a a really large, scenic area, well maintained buildings with gorgeous garden areas, it can get very crowded, especially on the waterfront… be careful of the mosquitoes.
