The Sheung Wan by Ovolo is a boutique hotel located in the heart of Hong Kong, specifically in the Central district. Stayed there for the first time in May 2019; side bar, this was my first time in HK period. The hotel is located on a central location in Central: there is McDonald's across the street and a 7-11 like store a few doors over. You can step out of the hotel and have things you need at hand. The hotel is edgy and indie: think k-town in LA. Lots of interesting patterns in the wall and big neon signs, like an "Instagram museum". The room itself has cool touches like an appletv and all of the hardware in the bathroom is from Italy (feels substantial when you touch it). Food is available in the restaurants on the first and second floor. Friendly staff and a nice stay. Thanks Vicky for taking care of me.

I love this concept! Tiny rooms that don't feel small, everything in the minibar is free of charge, and after checking inn, you will find a tote bag with candy in your room as a welcome gift. Every afternoon, there's happy hour in the lobby, and you can help yourself to wine, beer, drinks, snacks and cheese. Everything is free. There's also a gym and a laundry room. Off curse they are free of charge! The hotel is located by Soho district, so you are only a short walk away from a bustling nightlife and many great restaurants.

I really enjoyed this hotel. Perks include complimentary mini bar, snacks, canvas tote bag, AppleTV, fast wifi, free happy hour from 6-8 PM, and even access to hotspots around the city! Room 1003 was perfect for me as I was traveling solo. If you have large suitcases and another companion, it may feel tight, especially the bathroom. Location-wise, it's about a 7-10 minute walk from the Sheung Wan station, and you'll have to walk on some cramped streets to get there so travel lightly if you take public transportation. My rate included free breakfast, but the spread was nothing to shout about. It was very western, with cereals, eggs, bacon, lots of bread, and some fruit. I was a fan of the ginger shot, though- a nice way to wake up in the morning!

Perfect for the solo traveler who is on a work trip, or touring around HK, or just in town for whatever reason. The room I had was one with a double bed, which was perfect for just me, but it would have been pretty tight if there was another person with me. I was in HK for a week (stayed at Ovolo for 5 days) while working at the Center (super close, around the corner) and wanted something that didn't break the bank. I got my rate off priceline, and when I arrived decided to add the daily breakfast and happy hour option which was about $10SG a day. I can't say it was REALLY worth it, but I used the happy hour twice which probably bought back my $50 right there. :) The breakfast wasn't all that, some eggs, some mini muffins, coffee, and cereal. The location was really good for me, as everywhere I needed to get to was within walking distance, cute little cafe downstairs that makes a killer burger, and walking distance to bars, ect. Easy to get a taxi, and a mcdonalds and drug store across the street. My room was tiny, but it's pretty standard in Hong Kong, so I wasn't surprised, but it was cozy. Apple TV made me very happy, netflix, and really solid wifi. Good bath products, and high water pressure. A mini bar came with my extra add on with had a few beers and water and a coke. All nice added extras. Soft sheets and bedding, with remote control drapes that close. Nice black outs for quality sleep. My room was fairly quiet (901) except for the guy next to me that came in at 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday night slamming the door. All in all, I felt like I got a really good value for what I got, and the location was great for what I needed. Would recommend staying there, and I would stay again!

Ovolo Noho is a boutique hotel that I would not hesitate to recommend for you all to stay in. Before I talk about all the excellent features of this hotel, these are the FREE things that are included with room: Breakfast, WiFi, Self-laundry, Happy Hour Cocktails, and Mini-bar Drinks (a feature which I will elaborate later on). This Ovolo is the best location to be at in Central! It's about a 5 minute walk from Sheung Wan MTR (remember to take the A2 exit). There is a supermarket near the hotel and a 24-hour McDonald's is across the street. Also, there are many local restaurants nearby to satiate your dimsum, duck rice or wanton noodle soup cravings. Best of all, walk up the flight of stairs next to the hotel and you find yourself in the hippest part of Central! The receptionists here are very cheerful, helpful, and friendly! Ask them about the best places to be in the area and they will gladly map it out for you. :) The rooms are very cozy and simple! Yes, they are quite small but perfect for solo travelers! They utilized the space perfectly that you don't feel too cramped in the room. My most favorite features about my stay here: 1) Their amazing WiFi! Not only do you have WiFi in your room, they give you your own user name and password for free mobile WiFi in the city (no extra charge)! 2) The complimentary Happy Hour Cocktails in the lobby area. You get wine, beer, whiskey, soda, etc. + nachos, cheese and other nibbles. You can go here everyday during you stay here. 3) The BEST feature, ALL drinks in the mini-bar are FREE! The first time I stayed here, I completely avoided the mini-bar. I mean, mini-bars in other hotels have a fee. On the third to the last day of my stay, the staff asked me if anything is wrong with the mini-bar. Puzzled, I told them there was no problem; I just didn't want to pay for the drinks. The receptionist told me, "Ma'am, you can drink as much as you want! We were concerned because our staff told us they hadn't replenished your mini-bar yet." WHUUUT?! Yes, you can drink all the drinks at the mini-bar in one night and they will fill it up again the next day! UH-MAZING! (I'll be honest, after I found out about the free mini-bar, I drank both Tsingtao beers + Coke that night. Hehe!) OH! You also get a cute loot bag with snacks + a tote bag as a welcome gift! Super useful! :) Overall, I love this hotel and I would definitely stay here the next time I visit HK. Remember though, this is an excellent choice if you're going to HK on your own. Quick Tip: Ovolo Noho is right across McDonald's; look out for a sign with the letter "O".
