Just take it as an attraction, and consider what you pay as the entrance fee, with dim sum thrown in. Because dining in the oldest restaurant in HK definitely does not equate having good food. There was nothing great about the dim sum. But hey, it was a cool experience to check off.

This is my 3rd time here over 30 years. I like the interior decor, it’s like traveling back in time. I am having breakfast alone. Old uncle waiter’s service is ok. Char siew bao (bbq pork bun) is quite bad. Har gao (prawn dumplings) is average.

This is definitely not a restaurant just for filling up stomachs.  Prices are high but this a  unique traditional tea house with a history of over 90 years (since 1933) where you can enjoy the atmosphere and vibes of which stand for almost a century.

I have been coming here on and off for 20-30 years as my office was nearby. First time back for ages and nothing has changed.
Staff are a little unfriendly but that's the HK way!
The dim sum is not as refined as most places in HK so its tasty enough but don't expect 5 star.

Historic tea den, with distinct levels of service subject to your ability to read the chinese menu and place your order in Cantonese. The service might be something from an old film and struggling tourists be warned you might not have the greatest of experiences for the high price you will endeavour from this yum cha especially if you try and use your Google translator to navigate the chinese menu. The English menu differs from the chinese menu.

We ordered siu mai, 2x har gow, law mai gai, pi gwat, egg tarts, fried fun gor. Cost was in excess of $655HK plus the waiter was expecting a tip for extremely mediocre service and limited interactions.

I’m fluent in Cantonese and we felt unwelcomed and left feeling displeased. This was my second visit and after 7 years this tired tea house may not see us again for 7 more years.
