I had an opportunity to visit this restaurant invited to attend 2025 CNY lunch by friends at my past company. It is located at the 25F of Mandarin Oriental at Central.

Food: was well made, its a high class place. It was good that I wish the serving was bigger so I can eat more ;)

Service: It was really great services, multiple waiters to assist, they made sure the guest were attended promptly.

Atmosphere: You will feel the good vibes the moment you get out of elevator and walk towards the entrance. The view was great since its at the 25f floor, you see harbour and other land marks in the area.

Over all it was a great place to dine, spend time with other guys in the same  industry, it was well worth of the time. I will plan to be back and try other dishes of this restaurant

Stunningly sat at the top of Mandarin Oriental, it is the best duck I’ve ever had and exquisite service with immaculate attention to detail. Couldn’t fault it except perhaps to tell you there is a dress code on booking (though they do provide trousers!) and turn adapt the AC to the outside conditions as the windows had condensation obscuring what looked to be amazing views.

Not bad but we didn't manage to get the table facing the harbour. The place is intimate so you can hear conversations from other tables if they are talking very loud (which in my case, yes). And mainly  self boasting. Peking duck is nice but I prefer thicker meat for option 2 preparation. Their signature dish Sweet sour pork is nicely done. I also like the kale with ginger.
I gave 3 stars because the staff kept doing repeated stuff (eg. Clearing the plates or getting the same instructions) after another staff member had just asked us earlier.
Otherwise I like that they call you by name which is a nice touch.

Advice to junior staff: slow down your instructions, and keep eye contact.

📝 What a great restaurant. It's the right place for a special occasion: good food and impeccable service, however it comes for a price.

🍴 We tried a few things: a deep fried prawn from the seasonal menu that was awesome, a good but tiny marinated abalone and great sweet and sour pork. We asked for half a portion of fried rice that was also good but again really small. Portions tended to be in general rather limited. On the other hand, we were offered an out-of-the-menu amouse bouche and sweets at the end.

📍 The restaurant is classy and elegant. We received a table at the window that had a superb view of the skyline. It's located on a higher floor of Mandarin Oriental, 5 minutes away from Central station, so it can really be easily reached even by public transportation.

I hadn’t been back in HK for 9 years and I knew I wanted a special meal for this visit. My research led me to Man Wah, and with the Mandarin Oriental holding so many dear memories for me it seemed like the perfect choice. We were first “greeted” by the hostess who frankly seemed like she just didn’t want to be there. We were a little early so we just wanted to let her know we were be downstairs checking out the chocolates in the bakery. When we came back up she acted like she had never seen us before and asked for our name yet again. Strike 1. Our table however was perfect, and I think maybe the best one since we both had fantastic views. Our server seemed rushed but polite. We made our choices and were on our way. I went with tasting course A and my husband went a la Carte with A5 wagyu and fried rice.
My courses were tasty but not knock your socks off tasty and certainly not worth the price tag. I added an extra four gras & duck dim sum which they allowed, seemed like something they get asked for a lot. Glad I did as it saved the meal. I guess we were paying for the view. I really didn’t enjoy that our lovely table was situated next to the main service station and I kept seeing and hearing the rushed staff dumping dishes, sighing with frustration and even dropping plates. I thought this was supposed to be Michelin level but the experience was far from it. Easily my main regret meal of the whole trip. Wish I could go back in time and cancel the whole experience. There are plenty of places in the city with amazing views, better food and better value. I remain underwhelmed.
