One of the best Chinese restaurants in Hong Kong. For several reasons! #1 the view is incredible, #2  interior is on point and modern with a hint of Chinese. #3 food is excellent and is Michelin mentioned #4 there is an amazing rooftop bar upstairs you can go to after dinner!!! Perfect for any occasion! Highly recommended.

The Merchants – Classic Shanghai Dining with Room for Improvement

Located on the 43rd–45th floors of The Landmark, The Merchants serves classic Shanghai dishes with a stunning view of Victoria Harbour. Getting there involves two separate elevator rides, which can be tricky, but the staff at The Landmark are ready to assist if needed. The restaurant features an open dining space with private rooms available for booking.

The floors are shared with Cardinal Point, Cristal Room, Kaen Teppanyaki, and the members-only Arts Club, which means the washroom isn’t dedicated to the restaurant. While this isn’t a major issue, the path to the WC is long and confusing. Thankfully, attendants are on hand to guide guests.

We visited for the Hairy Crab Journey, a special menu offering. The dishes were well-executed and delicious, and my tea cup was consistently refilled. However, the dining experience lacked cohesion. The food delivery felt untimely and inconsistent—some dishes came with explanations while others were dropped off with no context. Despite not rushing guests to finish, the pace of service and the way dishes were cleared gave the impression that we were being hurried. Additionally, the clanking noise of dishes detracted from what should have been a fine dining experience.

What made the evening less than memorable was the handling of a special request. I had noted in advance that we were celebrating a special occasion and had asked for a signed souvenir menu. While such requests are not obligatory, I was under the impression it would be honored, as it seemed approved during initial discussions. Unfortunately, there was no acknowledgment of our celebration, and when I asked about the menu at the end of the meal, the staff appeared confused. I even followed up at the reception area, where the response felt lukewarm. Though the receptionist eventually offered to print the menu if I waited, what I truly wanted was an explanation of how the request had fallen through.

For a restaurant of this caliber, unmet expectations like these are disappointing. A simple acknowledgment or clarity around the request would have gone a long way in ensuring a better experience.

SOOO DELICIOUS! This place was amazing, from the food to the service. I wish I could’ve ordered the whole menu. Personally my favourite dish’s was the soup dumplings and the squab(baby pigeon) but everything was good. I would HIGHLY recommend going here
