Kelingking Beach
Nusa Lembongan, Indonesia
Discover Kelingking Beach Bali's jaw-dropping cliffside escape on Nusa Penida island.
Nestled in the scenic Bunga Mekar area of Klungkung Regency, Kelingking Beach is famed for its iconic T-Rex shaped cliff that towers over pristine turquoise waters. This natural wonder is one of Bali's most sought-after tourist attractions and a must-visit for adventurers and photographers alike.
Experience the breathtaking views and challenging trek
From the clifftop vantage point, visitors are treated to panoramic scenes of white sandy beach fringed by crashing waves below. The descent to the beach is a rigorous hike — often described as tough but immensely rewarding. Trekking down through steep paths and rocky terrain offers a sense of adventure few places can match. Many hikers enjoy the solitude on the beach, as fewer visitors make the full journey down.
- Parking fee is available at 5,000 IDR per vehicle for convenient access.
- Bungee jumping off the cliff offers an adrenaline-pumping experience for thrill-seekers at 2,000,000 IDR.
Tips for an enjoyable visit to Kelingking Beach
Prepare for a challenging hike and bring plenty of water and sunscreen. The climb back up is tough but the views and beach are unmatched rewards. Early visits before 10 AM help avoid crowds for a more peaceful experience.
While the turquoise waters look inviting, swimming is not recommended due to strong currents and waves. Visitors should exercise caution, enjoying the beach's beauty safely. Shade can be found in natural caves carved into the cliffs, providing a cool respite after trekking.
Amenities and future improvements
Visitors can find small stalls offering refreshing coconut water, snacks, and beverages at the beach entrance. Facilities including toilets and showers are available at the top of the trail for added comfort. Anticipated infrastructure improvements include an elevator expected to open by 2025, which will greatly enhance accessibility to this natural gem.

The beach is simply lovely and as most people are scared by the climb it’s not that full. When we visited there were no more than 20 people on the beach and we were proud that we were the only ones in our 50s who had dared to make the climb!
