Nice historical place to see and imagine how it looks like in it's glorious past. Unfortunately that's it, you have to leave everything to imagination because the place is run down and lacking in maintenance. You may walk around the compound free but you buy a ticket 10kRP for entry to their 'museum' which is sadly non-AC and sad looking. There are 3rd party guides available for hire at the entrance and that might help understand more about it's history. I paid for the museum because I'm hoping they'll use the funds for the much needed upkeep.

The fort has seen better days, maybe, A little bit of cleaning of the gardens would be a good idea.
The entree fee for the exposition hall is 5k for residents and 10k for foreigners. You can visit if you have nothing else to do.

Historical place in Makassar city. You can stop nearby from Losari Beach for a free ticket. The area was very huge and still in good condition. There is also a museum inside the Fort

Overall it was a great experience to visit one of the historical place located in Makassar. You can see historical artifacts, museum and jail. Fort Rotterdam stands as a testament to Makassar’s rich historical tapestry. Need some renovation for the museum La Galigo (on the left from main gate), for more persentative not just presenting, maybe some touch for the bigger museum because it has some potential 😭
