We visited Misool September 2024 and had an incredible week on this secluded island. From the pickup in Sorong until the drop off, everything was so well organized, which we did appreciate. From the first step on the island until we left, every second was top notch. The whole team of Misool is friendly, welcoming, smiling all the time and letting you feel like part of the family. The food was so various, healthy and we missed nothing. Really enjoyed the vegan and vegetarian choices a lot and liked every single meal. The diving and snorkeling trips were all great and but the house reef as well was one of a kind, with a varity of fish, turtles, sharks, squids etc. You could not ask for more.
Of course the costs are not low but they are worth it and we will definitely come back!

Just came back from spending a week in Misool and, just wow, had an absolutely wonderful time! It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Everything was just perfect. I loved being on a remote island, completely away from everyone with limited internet connection. Time was passing so slowly.

The reef from my villa was breathtaking; so many blacktip sharks passing by, so many fish to see! The best snorkeling I've ever experienced in my life!

The food was really good too! I was never hungry; definitely no dieting while staying at Misool!

I would have rated the rooms five stars if they were fully air conditioned. Just the bed is air conditioned under the gauze mosquito netting at night. The website or travel agent doesn't reveal this detail. The bathroom is completely open to the outside, so you sweat as soon as you get out of the shower. And it is very hot there in late November. The reef is spectacular, so if you don't mind being hot and sweaty most of the time, go for it. Be prepared for the 16 hours of travel to get there from Jakarta.

Delayed but never too late for this honest review.
Such a NEGATIVE experience here
1. When arrival I had an ear infection already I asked Carlo ( dive instructor)for Sudafed he said he only had one and said there are no doctors and walked away dismissive. Thx for no help. luckily there were 2 surgeons as guests that helped people on this private island with there issues . (Since you cannot leave)

2. During dinner we had a waitress just drop my plate and walk away when I asked her what this is she replied ‘YOU ordered it , YOU should know! When she came by again I asked what’s in it she said the name of the dish and rolled her eyes and walked away . Me and my partner were shocked . I then called the mark (manager) when I explained the issue to him instead of fixing the problem he sarcastically suggested I was the problem since he never had an issue with her with a condescending tone. Wooow couldn’t believe the response and still can’t but ok..

3. The same night they went around with a chart board to each table which suggest what activities to do the following day and we noticed a pattern we always got ignored and pretty much skipped our table 3 nights in a row at this point I noticed if we didn’t dive or stay at a Water Bungalow you were def not a priority !

4. As for the food it was ok dishes like beef randang was tough .they tend to give a lot of sweets throughout the day when I asked for a green salad they told me NO I said fine when they realized I was not happy already they finally said yes. I mean for the price you pay a night $1000 and above and I can’t even get healthy food ummmmm…

5. During our last night I tried to stay positive and the amazing guests organized a big table so I decided to get the ONLY wine they had which is called ‘Four cousins’ and honestly it looked like no name cheap wine but didn’t matter at the time since I just wanted to have a good time , nobody liked the taste .during the course of the night I got sick 🤢 puking up the wine .

I’ve been in Raja Ampat for 6 months and had a taste of hospitality on the islands before arriving to this place and this gives me such Tourist trap vibes especially coming from NYC, maybe because the guests were older or retirees they cater to them more and if you are not staying in the main front bungalow we did not matter, oh well . Luckily I made friends with some of the guests and I found out I was not the only one that had issues with Carlo and some of the staff and they have stayed there before but the experience was not good this time around . Honestly when they suggested leaving comments on the comment card I said they probably were gonna throw it in the trash as that’s the vibe I received .

What an experience honestly me and my partner were so happy to leave this place even though it’s stunning and some of the staff like the morning staff was absolutely flawless we couldn’t wait to head down to Kri island wayyyyyyy better experience staying in a local homestay no issues there.
