Hotel was situated in a very convenient and safe location. We could easily catch busses or walk to the areas in Kyoto we wanted to visit. It was also located near the canal/river, which offered a lovely walk. The double room was spacious for Japanese standards with a small seating area, a small table, and a chair.  The room was equipped with hangers for coats, hot water maker, tea pot, mini fridge, glasses, hair dryer, robes, slippers, and some toiletries like toothbrush and cotton swabs. The shower comes equipped with a large bottle of hand/face soap, shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner, which I love since it's so much more environmentally friendly than offering tiny bottles of everything with a high surface-to-volume ratio.
The staff members were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is available from about 6:30 to 9:00 and includes coffee, tea, orange juice, and pastries. The coffee machine does issue espressos, which were good, although there are no milk alternatives. The pastries are not vegan or gluten free, so plan accordingly if you have either of those dietary restrictions.
Washer and dryer are available to wash your clothes. People in Japan seem to be very honest, but the equipment is set up to enter a code so only those with the code can open the machine, so you don't have to worry about sitting in the laundry room while your clothes wash to make sure they aren't stolen.

not a bad hotel for the price! our room was quiet and the location is amazing, front staff are very friendly. simple free breakfast. only (slight) negative is that the room cleaning wasn't as good as other hotels we stayed at (ex. some stains in the bathroom that could've been removed with more attention)

Super location near great locations like the canal and nishiki market. High quality rooms with great aesthetic and the best shower I've ever seen. Kind and helpful staff. The breakfast was pretty lame though.

Stayed here at the end of November for 3 nights and would definitely recommend.

Pros:
-great location: lots within walking distance 7/11, a grocery, cafes, restaurants and lots of shopping only 8 minute walk away. Short bus ride from Kyoto station and bus stops right outside the hotel.
-shower was in a separate room from the toilet which was great for travelling with friends and everyone getting ready in the morning
-comfy fluffy down duvet
-nice helpful staff

Cons:
-VERY uncomfortable cheap pillows
-bed was far too firm for me (but hotel provided me with another duvet I used as a mattress topper of sorts)

This was our favorite hotel of our trip so far! It looked exactly like the pictures online. It was extremely clean and inviting! We got lucky with a corner room so had a great view of the city and great lighting in our room. The staff were amazing! They were helpful and truly made us feel at home. The location was also awesome! Easy to public transportation stops, the Pontocho, and a 7/11. There were some added bonuses like the laundry machine and espresso/coffee machine in the lobby that we appreciated having during our stay. This is our choice hotel for Kyoto if we ever come back and will be the one we recommend to friends and family for their stay in Kyoto!
