A Must-Visit Bamboo Forest Experience!

Visiting the bamboo forest today was absolutely breathtaking. We also decided to take a ride in a rickshaw for the first time, and it was the perfect addition to the experience. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable, sharing interesting facts and helping us take in the forest from a different perspective. Riding through the winding paths made the forest feel even more enchanting and added a touch of old-world charm.

Fortunately, the area has several other excellent attractions in close proximity, making it easy to fill your day with beautiful sights. Since entry to the bamboo grove is free, it's a must-visit, but consider visiting at off-peak times to enjoy it more peacefully.

Well, we were expecting acres and acres and miles of paths through this bamboo forest.  It was a five minute walk through it and we were done.  While the bamboo plants were truly magnificent, the immediate area has at least two temples worth visiting.
Suggestion: get to the bamboo forest no later than 8am.  You’ll be able to get selfies and enjoy the quiet before the crowds descend on the path.  The temples open at 9am, so there may be a wait to get in, but they are definitely worth seeing.
The photos include areas beyond the bamboo forest and the temple grounds.

Definitely recommend going earlier than 7am. Got there around 7:30am on a Thursday and it was already getting a little packed. Felt like the crowd doubled every 10 minutes. The “forest walk” itself is pretty short. You can walk through the entire thing while taking photos in 10-20 minutes.

Pretty convenient to get to, if you take the JR line it’s about a 5-10 walk. There’s bathrooms and trash cans at the nearby park if you need to them.

Saw many reels asking for people to visit early for the best photographs,  however there are many spots to get a good click at this bamboo forest irrespective of the time you go, unless you want to be the only one in your picture.

The view at the observation deck was great and gives you a great view of all the fall colors. One can also a walk along the Oi river which is quite peaceful

Overall, it was a good experience and a good tourist spot.
