Stayed here for our friend vacation and got the Japanese style triple room. The staff was very friendly and informative. The cafe/lounge area was a nice touch as well with FREE snacks and drinks! I thought there had to be a catch on that since we are used to that in the U.S but noo it really was free and there was a variety to choose from! The room was very spacious and clean. The best part was the location of the hotel. Walking distance to Nishiki Market which we loved, many shops and restaurants around including a 7 Eleven down the street! One day I did forget to buy water the night before and I woke up extremely thirsty around 7am. I grabbed the pitcher in our room to refill it at the lounge only to get there and see it was closed :( (mind you yess we were advised of the lounge hours so that was MY bad but still, it was a bummer) Maybe have an accessible water supply else where 24/7 for your guests in case of emergency? Besides that which was in no way your fault, everything was great!

Can't tell from the map but actually the location is superb good. Very close to the shopping street and food market. After touring around, quietly walking few mins back to hotel from dining. Perfect!
They have staff serve you from check in and out with warm feeling. No kiosk.
Specially love their lounge providing free snack/drink. I mean real one. Many hotels claim this offer but actually just cereals/coffee. But this one for real.. latte..box juice.. 🍸.. bakery.. ice cream too. I like to grab a latte after dinner walk. Highly recommended.

The rooms were large and comfy! The lounge was a nice spot to read and have snacks. We were a close walk to so many activities. Everyone at the facility is kind and helpful. They also held onto my keys until I could return and pick them up which is greatly appreciated.

Just came back from a great trip to Japan, with a nice stay at the General Kyoto. The room was huge, and it had very comfortable beds. My pillows were a little squishy, So I asked for a foam pillow and they found one, which really made my nights pleasant! The hotel was extremely quiet, and close to the subway station. One of my favorite things about this hotel is the private lounge area and the breakfast. Great food! Wonderful service, and the lounge was open from noon until 10 PM, and had drinks and snacks and such a nice area to hang out in and read. Overall a fantastic day, I would stay again, for sure.

A lovely hotel in trendy Kyoto area, short walk to lots of fashion and design shops. Many delicious restaurants (tried and tested the hotel recommendations available in the lobby) within 5 min walking distance. The rooms are very comfortable, clean and the hotel is quiet. Modern bathroom and great amenities. Even has a washing machine and dryer available. Breakfast included and snacks in the evening as well. Friendly and helpful staff, environmentally conscious policies. Saw a review about rooms being dirty: I cannot begin to comprehend where this comes from. Stayed in the room pictured with the tatami and three futon-style beds, really enjoyed my stay. Even the slippers provided are great. Have already recommended to friends and family, I will definitely come back next time when in Kyoto!
