Great atmosphere and ambience. A great place for a get together and chitchatting over nice coffee and nice cheese/chocolate cakes. One of the few coffee joints in the area that open to late.

Cos the joint is located on level 2 of a quiet alley, it could easily be missed though.

Best coffee in Kyoto,  assuming you like actual coffee. Not the place for people who prefer mixed coffee drinks.  Just great dark full-flavored coffee.
And they serve an incredible dark chocolate cake that complements the coffee perfectly.
Finally,  this place just smells wonderful and plays perfect background music.

This was such an amazing find on an afternoon. The cafe is pretty small with an amazing atmosphere. Dimly lit, everything made of wood and the staff was super friendly. It’s such a nice place to chill and have a chat. I cannot talk about the coffee because I only tried the tea which was really good. The chocolate cake was also amazing! Will definitely come back.

The coffee here could strip the paint from your car. The so-called medium roast Rwanda and Tanzania were indistinguishable…the same dense, bitter, over extracted undrinkable mud water, and not inexpensive either. This is a very cool spot with a beautiful interior and it’s open late but the coffee is awful. If this type of over-roasted sludge is someone’s idea of heaven, great, but don’t call it “medium roasted” and waste my time and money.

Great place. Ambience. Working hours. The staff very friendly.
Our only problem was the coffee... Too dark roasts for pour over - tried Tanzania and Rwhanda. Maybe that's how people like it in Japan!? (Yet Blue Bottle nearby didn't get the message? :-)).
