We had such an amazing experience when we stayed on May 3rd 2024. The attention to detail is insane and we appreciate every single one. The traditional and modern mix of the rooms felt so homecoming complementing the room is the the most beautiful view of the sea and the green hills.

For the price we had spent here we can promise that Oyado is the best by far! Lovely food, amazing service, view and tranquillity you will not find a better place.

We were so blown away by the service we had received after getting very disappointed by another ryokan near by. We are so glad that we had stumble across Oyado, such a hidden gem!

Superb location - in a forest, standing on the cliff overlooking the ocean. A great place for star gazing. Room is spacious and in-room evening dining is available in our suite, so it gives a bit more privacy. Dinner was great yet breakfast was quite simple. Overall 5 stars.

We spent two nights at Oyado the Earth and felt relaxed and at ease the entire time.

I wouldn't hesitate to book here given the high caliber of service (in English too!), incredible food (able to adjust for vegetarian as well), and mesmerizing views.

Understand going into this stay that the rooms are going to feel a little old-school and different than the usual 5-star cookie-cutter experience. But that's part of the traditional and authentic charm. The price is unreal and unbeatable for the value. Especially when the other luxury accommodation will be the somewhat nearby Aman property which is at least double the price of Oyado the Earth.

Something that we didn't know (and wished we did) is that there is a shuttle that can take you into Toba during your stay. While relaxing in and out of your private onsen all day is really nice, it would have been lovely to know this so we could have planned a tour day as we were eager to see the Ama divers.

That being said, if you're looking for something off the beaten path, and authentic luxury, this couldn't be a better place to stay.

Beautiful location in the green nature with spectecular ocean views. Nice Boutique Hotel with 16 rooms only. We enjoyed excellent food quality for breakfast and dinner. Sleeping with  waves sounds or relaxing in outside private Onsen ... Nice.
And to all the city people: Its normal when you are in the nature that you sometimes encounter insects ... cleaning service could be more diligent and we would like to suggest private sun decks / chairs at rooms terraces.

I’ve been here for 2 times, honestly it was super nice atmosphere for the first time(2013) but   It was a bit disappointing for the second time(2016) because of the people’s behaviour who stayed here and the staff...almost everything were totally different from the first time actually I felt...
