Good price, even last minute, and one train stop or a doable walk from Osaka Station. The lobby looks like a bar rather than a hotel lobby. Checkin was easy. Breakfast added about $8 USD per day. They have a nice coffee machine in the lobby that's free for guest use--it makes a decent hot matcha latte. They also have a miso soup machine that's open for use until about 9:30pm. Breakfast is decent: miso soup, scrambled eggs made from actual eggs not a box, mini sausages, tater tots (leveled hash browns), pumpkin soup, cereal, mini donuts, udon with fixings, greens for a salad (not a typical western breakfast food), OJ, Apple juice, and maybe a few other things. They have the nice coffee machine; the cappuccino tasted very burnt; the matcha latte was made with actual matcha powder in a receptacle above the machine, and was pretty good. The queen room isn't big, but it's not the smallest room I've seen in Japan by a long shot. There's a big TV on the wall. There are also several items of furniture in the wall, which is interesting--a small table, a folding chair, the luggage stand, and a weirdly tiny, shallow fridge. I can see what they're going for in the hallway decor, like NYC apartments, but the room number don't looks more like prison cell numbers, so that's not ideal. The shower has a nice rain head. There's no desk in the room. So far, the WiFi connects but is very slow. The bathroom comes with a vanity kit, disposable razor, disposable toothbrush, toiletries mounted on the shower wall, robes, slippers, and the standard bidet. The Marriott app says it has a business center and printers. I'm not sure where that information came from, but it was absolutely not true. The staff looked very confused when I asked about it because I needed to print. That said, they were happy to print when I sent them stuff.

This is the second Moxy hotel we have stayed in this trip. The vibe and decor are the same as the last location, but the reception is run differently. They actually differentiate between reception and bar areas, even though they are right next to each other. The staff are just as friendly and courteous. Amenities are a bit different: different complimentary soft drinks, bottled water is available at reception 24/7, but not provided in room. Our room at this location is a bit larger--not a lot, but just enough to make a nice difference. Interestingly, this location does not provide face towels. Whereas there was a mini fridge on the bathroom counter at the last location, this room has a wall-mounted mini that can hold about two bottles of beer. They've graffiti'd fun messages in the room--and the one on the fridge is appropriately humorous. There are fewer restaurants nearby, but as always, there's a 7-11 on the next block and a Lawson's on the same block. All inclusive laundry facilities are available, but the dryers took a lot longer, or else we had much heavier clothing to wash. We did not check out the food offerings at the last location, however, we enjoyed the breakfast buffet so much at this location that we opted to enjoy it both mornings of our stay. The offerings are both western: (scrambled eggs, sausage, tater tots, vegetables, yogurt, cereal, mini-donuts (but not overly oily/sweet like American ones), croissants) and Asian: Miso soup, corn soup, noodles, salad bar including edamame, okra, national, potato and macaroni salad, ochazuke. Beverages included coffee, orange and apple juice, water and milk. The breakfast are includes a corner area with tons of windows and awesome morning sunshine. If you're allergic to morning sun, there's a darker lounge area, as well. Luggage service: since we've been moving around quite a bit, we have had our larger luggage pieces sent ahead, when available. The last location was not able to do this for us--we would have needed to take our luggage to a combini (convenience store), and they only transferred luggage on certain days of the week. This Moxy location was able to take care of our luggage transfer easily and conveniently. This Moxy location isn't as conveniently located to the train station--it's about 1.5 km--but there are several shopping areas at the station.
