Since SF opened up it's own branch. I had yet to try it where it originated from. Upon arriving there was a wait, made sure we came the hours they serve their special pancakes. Its noted Grams only serve 20 pancakes a day during special hours. Atmosphere totes cute, felt like I was eating in a garden. My hot cakes arrived in 15mins and 3 words that describes this scrumptious pancake. Light, dense, and fluffy. Great experience and totally would love to try in SF and compare. Thank you Grams!

I came to Japan to try some fluffy pancakes, and I kind of had a feeling that we weren't going to get a chance at Gram because we came pretty late at around 8pm. If you want to get an order of their premium fluffy pancakes, I recommend coming earlier to get a reservation because they only make a set number per day. However, my 3 star review isn't because of that. We ordered the tiramisu pancake, which was pretty good! The pancake was somewhat fluffy, but the cream filling was really thick and a bit too sweet for my opinion. the mix fruit and chocolate pancake was somewhat of a disappointment in that I actually enjoyed the fruit more than the pancake. The pancake tasted a bit dense and dry to my liking, but the fruits were still refreshing though. Overall, I feel like this place is a bit over-hyped, but then again I didn't get a chance to try their premium fluffy pancakes. The service was okay - I felt like the waiter who took our order was a bit grumpy.

Stopped by for the fluffy pancake only to realize that they were out. Was told to stop by 1 hour before any of the 3 times a day (11, 3, 6) that they serve the pancakes. Finally stopped by 1 hour before 3 and was told by the staff that once you order, you cannot cancel and must wait until the pancakes are ready. Was also told that if we ordered more later, there would be additional waiting time. Waited for 1 whole hour for the pancakes to show. The pancakes were fluffy, but were bland, tasteless, and disappointingly underwhelming. The offered only a minuscule amount of syrup. The butter on top was cold and hard. Asked for more syrup, but was told: "Sorry, we can't give you more syrup." This cafe needs to: 1. Work on the taste of the pancake. It is not just about the novelty of the jiggly presentation; it is also about the taste. A jiggly pancake that tastes bland is worthless. Don't provide butter that is hard and cold because the pancakes aren't really warm enough to melt them. 2. Improve its baking processes so it can provide a steady supply of these pancakes to meet the demand. Customers should not have to wait an hour to try the pancake. 3. If your customers ask you for more syrup, give it to them! Recommendation: Skip!

Ordered the classic premium pancake. With side orders of bacon (double, definitely too much), strawberries and kiwi. Also a rose hip peach tea. Arrived 30 minutes before opening.

We came 15 minutes after the afternoon release of their Premium Pancakes and were told they were sold out. We ended up ordering the Premium Smile Pancakes, which was around 400 yen more, but consisted of 3 types of pancakes - fruit toppings, chocolate, and egg. It was disappointing that we had to order 1 thing per person (drinks or sides count), because we weren't hungry enough to order something each. It would have been nice if the host told us this in advance before we were seated. Service could be improved as we sat there waiting to order and ended up having to wave down a server. The pancakes were interesting. I was expecting a light soufflé-like texture, but was surprised that they were more like cakes. The top layer was our favourite with the fresh fruits. The fruits were fresh and sweet. The second layer was similar to the first except the fruits were replaced with a thin piece of chocolate in the centre. I was expecting a chocolate drizzle, but it was literally a thin chocolate plate. The third layer was savory? To be honest, I didn't like the hollandaise or whatever the eggy sauce was. We left that untouched. The smiley cookie was unnecessary. I think it was a butter cookie, but had an unpleasant off taste. Overall, we thought these fluffy pancakes are a hype. We are slightly relieved that the Premium Pancakes were sold out because we wouldn't have waited in line for them.

True rating 3.5 Heard about raving reviews about this place. They make this premium pancakes 3 times a day and limited orders. We lined up right when it opened just to check it out. The pancakes were super fluffy and big with some cream and syrup on the side. In all honestly, I think this was great for the instagram; gram for the gram literally LOL but I have had a lot better. I thought the boba pancakes in Taiwan was WAY better even though it didn't look as fluffy as Gram. Don't think I'd come back here again, wasn't too much worth the hype.

Time is money, so I avoided this touristy location after reading the reviews. Went to the Namba location instead (that one is not on Yelp). There was no line, and the service was friendly there. I got the Premium Pancake (¥1000), and it was one of the best soufflé pancakes I have ever had. Super fluffy, sweet, and buttery.

My friend wanted fluffy pancake so we came here. It's on the 2nd floor and the kitchen was about to close when we came. (kitchen closes at 4pm). Everyone had to order something if we want to stay so I got an iced tea. I tried the pancake and it was delicious and sweet and very buttery. This cafe was a bit pricey in my opinion, too pricey for Japanese standard.

The food was good but the service was lacking. I would have given 2 stars but I felt bad for the employees. That is because they play many roles: server, cashier, busser, etc. I came for the fluffy pancakes but was unaware of the schedule and that they only sell a certain amount. I ordered the tiramisu pancakes and they were an amazing backup choice but it was basically dessert for breakfast. Also, I ordered a side of bacon and it was really a big piece of ham.

In Japan, you expect a high level of service, but this place is an exception. Such a damn shame too. I was able to try the fluffy pancakes which was delicious, but the service was a hot mess and what I would expect at an American restaurant. The food here overall is mediocre, so I would just go for the pancakes. However , you have to wait for the pancakes which is annoying because they make a batch of 20 at a time or something. Just really annoying!
