Our stay was t great. It was the middle of winter, and our newly renovated room had NO AC. They were kind enough to bring up a fan though. The shuttle was nice, everything got a face-lift but you can feel just how tired this property is.

The hotel is a perfect hotel for couples/family visiting Osaka. The rooms were great and large, the staff is friendly and helpful. Furthermore the hotel also offers a free shuttle bus to Osaka-Umeda station. Would recommend to stay here in your visit to Osaka.

Extremely terrible service!!! Have no idea how this hotel get a 4 star.

1. the front desk mistaken taken others name with mine. But she thought that’s me that booked 2 rooms😅 wasted a whole lot of time until she printed the confirmation out and I tell her it’s different name….😅😅😅

2. Dirty bed sheet. Called the front desk, she tell the guest to change it themselves??? And after I become angry she send someone here to change it. What a joke😅

4. No much amenities. Nothing. And the wind machine makes a huge noise.

5. They don’t even pick up the service calls…. 8:00am in the morning. No one? Is this intentional? This is the very only hotel I have ever seen that doesn’t pick up guest calls.

The Hotel was magnificent, the room was big, and service was great. The price was very good and I honestly don't understand how that's possible for what we got. There is also a shuttle service from the hotel to Umeda that leaves every 15 mins. Would strongly recommend.

Huge Convention Hotel in Osaka. We were there for holiday and appreciated the newly renovated room and shuttle bus service to and from Osaka Station. Because of the hotel's location, it can be slightly far from amenities like shops or cafes, however,  it can be a plus if you are looking for some quiet and away from the hustle and bustle. Will stay again!

Comfortable high end large hotel with a wonderful breakfast buffet. Highlights : - Lovely rooms of a good size with comfortable beds - Breakfast buffet: top notch with so many options from dumplings and noodles and sushi to pastries and a pancake making machine. Dining room overlooking a nice garden. - Water bottles in the room - Complementary bus from Osaka station Lowlights - Can walk to things but but farther away over the bridge - Booked as 2 beds but said they had us down for one Nice for those who want to be away from it all.

Leaving for Japan again next weekend - I guess knowing this is what's spurring me to catch up on my reviews for the experiences I had on my previous visits there. Stayed here when I visited Osaka last November. Found it online and here are my thoughts ... Clean and comfortable. Cozy aka a little tight. Beds were on the stiffer side; on a scale from 0-10, with 10 being like a rock, I'd say it was about a 6/7. I'm good with it though - not a fan of soft beds. I like feeling of sinking into a cloud but not to sleep for hours or nights. Hot water however, I would have loved it if the water pressure was stronger. Loved the bidet - or the norm for bathrooms in every property (hotel and AirBNB) I've stayed at in Japan so far. TV doesn't have or didn't have English channels but I didn't ask about it. I was there to sleep, shower and store all the stuff I bought. Looking back now, wish it was closer to more things - subway was about a ten minute walk away. Though there was a Family Mart on the corner about a two minute walk. Japan convenience stores ... IYKYK. Otherwise, it was quiet. Staff spoke English and were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. I didn't wander the property but you can look on the hotel's website for what's offered. Shuttle is offered to the train station which is helpful but coordination/reservation is required. Especially if it's late night or early AM. As to whether I'd stay here again - it's a maybe. Not because anything was bad - would just like to be closer to attractions and transportation.

2024-07-03. RIHGA Royal Hotel Osaka, Japan. The Righa Royal hotel is one super bougie hotel. It's one of those hotels that are capable of holding conventions. There is an entire shopping arcade on the lower level (B1) that is full of boutique shops. There is an also another set of stores on the main floor as well. In addition to the shops, there are lots of restaurants as well. The facilities are quite expansive as well. There's a swimming club, spa services, salon services, and more. The use of the pool is additional $ for guests, and it's not cheap ¥3200 per person. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the beds are quite firm, which suits me fine as I like firm beds. Pillows are softer, but very comfortable. The fridge is stocked with a mini bar and drinks ($), and there is a room safe. Room service is also available. Your booking can come with or without breakfast and there are two types. Being an IHG hotel, they serve your common American breakfast (7th floor), and being in Japan, they serve a local fare breakfast on the main 2nd (?) floor. Both can also be purchased if you didn't book it with your reservation. The main lobby is vast and empty, they can definitely do something to spruce up the space. But then again, I can see it being filled if there is an event taking place. They are currently undergoing renovations, but I'm not sure for what (the area is completely covered up, and all I hear is the din of power tools and equipment.) perhaps they're preparing for the 2025 summer Olympics... The hotel is really quite nice and their prices reflect it. Look to pay around ¥42000 per night for a base room for 4 (2 adults, 2 kids) on a weekend. Weekdays are cheaper and you can find the same budget room for half that price (¥21000) if your timing is right. Oh and if you're an IHG rewards member and are thinking of using cash and points, forget it, the RIHGA isn't eligible... We checked in late, and there was zero issues with our reservation. The front desk staff spoke English and were friendly. The room we had however only had towels and water for 2. We called downstairs and they promptly sent up two additional sets. The room is also equipped with a Nespresso machine and the coffee, tea, and mineral water is complementary (snacks, soda, beer, and mini bar are additional $.) The one bad thing about the hotel is its proximity to places. It's kind of off on its own, not quite within walking distance of anything. They do provide a free shuttle bus to and from Osaka Station and it cycles about every 15 minutes (the hotel is only 9 minutes from the station). If you plan on going to Universal Studios, they provide a free shuttle there as well. You will need to book the bus as seating is limited, and bookings are done at the front desk. I suggest you do this at check-in. When we booked, there was only ONE bus for the entire day, and it left promptly at 08:00. The unfortunate part is that it's only one way, you will need to find your own transportation back to the hotel. Pro tip: the bus from Universal Studios Japan back to Osaka Station will only cost you ¥190 yen, and from there, you can catch the free shuttle back to the hotel. The shops close quite early, and the 7-Eleven (in the lower level) closes at 23:00. The good news is that if you're a night owl, there is a Lawson's at the end of the block (about a 2 minute walk from the hotel entrance.) The bad news is that the Lawson's sub-standard compared to others, it's smaller and carries less variety and fewer goods. Overall, this is a pretty impressive hotel. They have specific elevators for certain floors, similar to hotels in Vegas. There are plenty of shops, restaurants, and services businesses right on site, and the place is large enough to host conventions. The place exudes $$$, but if you play your cards right, you can have a taste of for a decent price. If You would like to experience more, come dine-with-me.yelp.com I'd love to have your company... Terrible customer service. I booked my stay on the IHG app however upon check In I was told my say would be nearly $800 more than I was charged and the app was incorrect. There was no trying to resolve the issue or trying to find any alternatives. This was a family vacation and it clearly made a major impact on our vacation. I expected more from a "high" end hotel. I have never received this type of treatment. I have been a member of IHG for 10+ years and always had excellent reviews. I'm ver disappointed. When the hotel emailed me back regarding the issue, they simply said they would share with their staff so it would improve their service. Like I said before, nothing was done to fix the situation.

Just returned from a two week trip to the Kansai Region ending in Osaka. Having stayed in one of the Rhiga Hotels in the past I knew from experience that service would be top notch and the Osaka location lived up to our expectations. Prior to leaving on our trip to spend Christmas and New Year's in Japan, I contacted hotels in the handful of stops we would visit to get transportation information ahead of time. In addition, because we were spending New Year's Eve and New Year's Day in Osaka, I was concerned that our dining options would be limited since much of Japan shuts down to enjoy the end of the year with family. The first concierge, Rachael, was very prompt in responding and provided great detailed information including making reservations for dinner for us when we arrived at the hotel on New Year's Eve. We appreciated the information on Shinto shrines in the vicinity for our New Year's blessing and the excellent osechi breakfast on New Year's Day. Perhaps the only little hiccup we encountered was when we paid the breakfast bill. The banquet cashier would not accept my MasterCard or American Express Card for payment even though our hotel was paid for using our MasterCard and the previous night's dinner with my American Express Card. No stress as we had more than enough yen to cover the tab. The hotel has a beautiful lobby and even with the large crowd of hotel guests pouring into the hotel for the New Year's holiday, the lobby was spacious enough to accommodate the crowds and hotel staff was sprinkled throughout the lobby to help with check-in, check-out, taking photos for families and friends in front of an epic kadomatsu arrangement. My wife and I found the hotel shuttle from Osaka Station to be very convenient heading to and from the hotel. We even took the shuttle back to the hotel when I got lost and ended up walking to Osaka Station during one of our sightseeing jaunts. The JR Nakanoshima Line begins and ends at the hotel which helped us as we ventured out each day. Access is in the hotel's basement. The hotel room is on the smaller side but adequate for our needs as we spend very little time in the hotel room and it provided ample opportunity to cuddle wife my wife. On a closing note I would like to commend the concierge staff. The young gentleman who helped me on several occasions gave precise instructions to our requested sightseeing locations and even added some of his own favorite stops in the vicinity.

I would compare this to an older Best Western Older rooms, it's clean but very very old. Beds are very hard. If you're American I would not stay here. Bathrooms are very old. They charge you to use the pool $32/day per person. They won't even let you go look at the pool. The Customer service is poor, They do not speak English or they do not try to. There is carpet everywhere even in the restaurants and it looks like it has not been changed since 1970. If you have tattoos you can not use any of their spas. Definitely has the Reno fake gold, smells like smoke (probably because carpets) feel. The maids and women are the nicest part of this hotel. Don't waste your money, it will leave a bad memory of Osaka, which this city is very cool! Don't be fooled by pictures online!

Spending the holidays with family and friends here in Osaka, my mom and I checked into the Rihga Royal Hotel. We were a bit early for the 3:00 check in so we had tea infront of the most beautiful scene through a huge glass wall. When we were ready to go however, they made us wait as our room was still not ready. To my surprise they gave us another room which was an upgrade along with some Shiseido products. One of the coolest perks in this room? Comes with a smartphone with unlimited international calls to 6 countries! And Wi-Fi, games etc but you can take the phone with you to use! Let's see how the rest of our stay goes.

The room was more compact than where we had come from in Kyoto but spacious enough for a double bed, desk & small cupboard. In the bathroom, there was room for 2 adults to stand, a bathtub / shower & toilet. The hotel itself is very grand and beautiful. There is a bakery / store called Melissa which is reasonably priced in comparison to room service but there is a 7 Eleven around the corner and a huge Family Mart with much cheaper food, snacks, drinks etc There's a free shuttle bus to Osaka Station - such a useful service as the hotel itself is a bit tricky to get to because no train station runs pass it. You can catch a train and then walk or a taxi. The bus service runs every 15 minutes until about 10am and then every 6 minutes during the day and evening. Most staff spoke quite good English here too!

Do not stay here; miserable experience! Between the expensive room and the expensive extras, even if the rooms were cool enough to sleep under the sheets, it's a rip-off paradise! Nice looking hotel but dated; not even a microwave anywhere in the building. ¥3200 per day to use the pool and ¥6700 for the onsen?! Nothing remotely near the hotel except a 7-11 in the basement. All restaurants outside the minimum ¥10,000 per plate diners of the hotel are beyond walking distance. The 4 Rolls Royce and Ferrari in the main floor for sale should be an indicator of old Japanese money. The facility is dated and we couldn't sleep in the 30c heat of the room. Never again, EVER, will I stay at this dump!
