A Hidden Gem with Exceptional Service!!

The Sheraton Miyako Osaka might not be the first hotel that comes to mind when visiting Osaka, but it certainly has a lot to offer. As a Marriott property, I was confident that my Titanium elite status would be well recognized, and I was pleased with the reasonable pricing, especially since they provided an extra bed—a huge plus when traveling with kids.

One of the main reasons I chose this hotel was its convenient access from both Itami (ITM) and Kansai International Airport (KIX). My father was arriving from KIX, and I was concerned about him navigating the subway with luggage. Fortunately, I discovered that there are direct, non-stop airport buses from both airports to the hotel, making it incredibly convenient.

Before my arrival, I reached out to the hotel to request two rooms close to each other and an extra bed for one of them. Unlike many Marriott properties that offer a standard response about upgrades being subject to availability at check-in, the Sheraton Miyako Osaka promptly confirmed that they would make the arrangements and upgrade both rooms. When I checked in around 3 PM, everything was set, and my luggage, which I had forwarded from a previous hotel, was already waiting in my room.

The perks of my stay exceeded my expectations. The hotel provided complimentary breakfast for three people (including my 10-year-old), waived the charge for the extra bed, and granted me lounge access. The breakfast spread was impressive, surpassing many Sheraton properties in the U.S., with a well-balanced selection of both Western and Japanese cuisine. My kids particularly enjoyed the udon noodles and rice balls. The lounge also offered a smaller breakfast selection, but it was more than sufficient, and in the evening, I appreciated being able to enjoy a few glasses of sake.

The only downside is that the rooms, like many in Japan, are on the smaller side and could benefit from some renovations, particularly with new carpeting. However, the beds were comfortable, and the level of service more than made up for any minor shortcomings. In fact, after checking out, we realized we had left some belongings behind, and the hotel went out of its way to mail them back to us—truly exceptional hospitality.

The location is another highlight. The hotel is directly above a subway station, offering easy access to Namba, Osaka Station, and other key destinations, including direct lines to Nara and Kobe. Additionally, it is connected to a department store with a Uniqlo, a 100-yen shop, and plenty of dining options, making it incredibly convenient.

If I return to Osaka and want to stretch my budget without sacrificing comfort or service, the Sheraton Miyako Osaka would undoubtedly be at the top of my list.

If you are an Elite Bonvoy member ypou can be sure they will give you the worst room available, I do not understand why in the lastbthree times I came here it happened the same.
Now the hotel is under renovation and, as a Titanium member, I obviously had the oldest and smallest room available.
I complained and they told me that the hotel was fully booked , I anyway found rooms and suiotes available.
I come here because it is close to my friends home.

The lounge is quite good, various foods available and good drinks. Excellent service.

The warm pool (small) that once was free for guests has to be paid. A little but good free gym is available downstairs though.

I guess I won't stay gere anymore because of their bad Elite policy.

My first negative experience with Japanese hotel cleanliness.  The bathtub area had several strands of long hair stuck to the wall and 2 strands in the sink. The lower bed skirting was stained. Japanese hotels are always well known for excellent house keeping, things may have changed.
Service is still excellent as always and location is convenient for me. Not too near Namba which is good for me.

The choice of orange decor feels out of place and detracts from the luxury feel of the hotel. While there is a pool, it’s disappointing that guests have to pay to use it, especially for a hotel at the Sheraton level. The gym is nice, and although the room isn’t very large, it’s comfortable. Service was good, and the direct access to the train station is a big plus.

I'd like to complain about their key card only. Other than the key, everything is wonderful.
I need to use this hotel for business.. whenever I reach the hotel exhausted after the looooong day, I always cannot enter the room with the key! It doesn't work every time.
They need to change the whole system of key cards in my opinion. It is super tiring to go back to the front and wait for them to fix it. It's not their problem, but the key. I haven't complained about this kind of thing to other hotels since it's never happened.. I'm so tired
