Melbourne / Australia traveller - best soba noodles I’ve eaten! Such an experience. Must get the soba with tempura and aged tofu (take a small bite of the aged tofu after each soba slurp)… so good!

Very simple menu with exceptional food quality.  Definitely worth a visit but expect the waiting and dining to take 2 hours.

I visited twice, once in summer and another to bring my parents in autumn. The first time I came I arrived at 2pm but it was already sold out and was told to come back the next day. When we came back the lady recognised us! Btw you can sit outside (assemble the plastic chairs) but you can also take a look inside and sit inside if there is no one sitting to wait for your table to be ready (especially useful in the summer!). They gave us an eigo menu and also wrote us a small post-it note describing what tempura we had that day!!! 🥹

They usually have a transparent privacy separation screen but when they noticed we were together as a group of four they went ahead to remove it for us, it was such a nice gesture. Again they came to us with another post-it note on the second trip! This time they had persimmon tempura 🤯 So far…. their tempura is the best I’ve had in my short life omg it’s so crispy and light and not soggy nor feels overly oily 🤤 after you’ve finished your food, they’ll come with a small hot kettle with a broth that you can pour into your remaining dipping shoyu and drink it like soup! I loved the ambiance and the interior and decor and how small and intimate it felt. Fun!!!!
