Most hospitable and professional chef and crew I’ve ever met!

The restaurant was just a few minutes walk from the metro station, which was easily accessible.

One of the staffs spoke fluent English and guided us through the whole course, it was very considerate and informative.

Matching of the ingredients and sauce was awfully good. The grilled dishes came as a surprise! It was perfectly cooked, the meat was tender and sided with some ingredients that brought their taste to another level! My favorite dish was the miso soup, it’s literally the best I’ve ever had. It had a tint of corn sweetness and would not be too salty in general.

We placed our handbags beneath our chairs during the meal, and my friend forgot to take his bag with him when we were finished! It was at midnight when we figured it out so there was nothing we can do about it. At 1am when we were at our hotel, we received a call from the front desk saying that Chef Jiro Murakami actually brought my friend’s bag to the hotel! We could not thank Chef Jiro Murakami enough for his kind-doing. He is not just professional and passionate, but also tourist-welcoming and warm hearted.

Visiting from the US, this was the most memorable experience in our entire trip. The sushi was incredible, with perfectly seasoned rice served at a precise temperature. The attention to detail was outstanding. As the only two foreigners in the 8 seat intimate bar, I was initially afraid of feeling like I was intruding on the normal operations of a local favorite. Instead, this was the most welcoming restaurant we’ve been to in Japan. The restaurant is run by a husband and wife team, and the wife seamlessly switched between Japanese and English to explain all of pieces to us. After we really enjoyed their highball, she even walked us down the street to a liquor store to show us the exact whisky they use. Sincerely one of the best dining experiences of my life. Thank you Sushi Murakami Jiro!

As a small note, finding the door is a little difficult - hopefully the attached pictures help a future patron.

One of the best sushi in Osaka.

This is a 8 seater and located within a small building. The restaurant is in the middle of the first floor. Had a bit of trouble finding it but look out for the wooden door with the restaurant name hang by the side.

The staff speaks good English and very friendly, will guide you through the meal.

For food, excellent! Each dish is very good and mix of grilled and sushi. For the sushi, the IKA and Uni are the two major wows. The sushi ingredient is huge and chef skilfully wrap the Uni around the rice without collapsing. Never had such huge uni (s) stacked in this way. The Ika is so soft/smooth, it is creamy.

The firefly squid in a bowl is exquisite.

As for the side dishes, the lotus roots marinated with plum sauce is another level.

Finishing with dessert, they made the dessert, Warabi Mochi, in front of you and cool it with ice and pinching to pieces after cooling.

When you exit the restaurant, the staff will loudly say goodbye!

I definitely will come back the next time.

I’d say the food is pretty good, but for me, omakase is more than just a meal—it’s an experience that combines both food and service.

The seating arrangement, at a bar-style table, is meant to create a connection between the chef and the guests, allowing for interaction. However, there were eight people sitting there, and the chef only engaged with two of them, who were Japanese. The rest of us were completely ignored. The chef didn’t even make eye contact with us while serving food in front of us.

As for the lady who appeared to be acting as a server （女將）or second chef, I can’t say she was friendly or polite. On the contrary, her behavior made me feel uncomfortable. She spilled the sake to the table, took away a client’s drink even though it was only half-finished, and spoke in an overly loud voice that almost ruined the night. My head and ears were hurting by the end of the dinner, and I just wanted it to be over so I could leave. Overall, it was a very unenjoyable experience.

I saw a Google review of this place where someone claimed the service was excellent, but I have to respectfully disagree. In my experience, the service was far from welcoming or engaging. While taste and quality are important, the service is a huge part of the omakase experience, and sadly, it fell short here.

This place has set a new standard for me. The crab (shabushabu style) was a standout, both in flavor and the entertaining preparation. And the fatty tuna? Simply the best I've had - rich but not overwhelmingly fatty.

Both mackerels were delicious, striking a perfect balance without any fishiness and a delightful texture. The tiger prawn was exceptionally sweet, and the shellfish were prepared masterfully - full of flavor and texture without being too tough, something I've found rare in other places.

But what truly sets this spot apart is their vinegar rice - it's on par with the finest, each grain perfectly seasoned and firm without being hard. The addition of seasonal vegetables in the sushi was unique and refreshing, adding an intriguing twist to each bite.

The ambiance here is unmatched for an omakase experience - it's interactive, relaxed, and the hostess's fantastic service made it feel like dining in a cozy izakaya. This isn't just a meal; it's an experience where you can comfortably chat with the chef and feel at home. Can't recommend it enough!
