We just bumped into this place by accident when we arrived hungry at the station en route to somewhere else. And I'm so glad I was hunger led us to spontaneously eat here! I wish I had had time to eat a second time at Pota Pasta. If you don't speak Japanese, they'll pull out an order card in English that explains the ordering process. The menu itself consists of normal pasta combinations (carbonara, etc) and some odd ones (like fish roe with sea urchin) with fresh pasta. ORDERING// Choose a pasta dish, portion size, thick or thin pasta, then a set (pasta only; w/ drink; with focacia; with drink & focacia). Then choose your drink (hot or cold), etc. They also have risotto and soup with the same combinations. They then hand you a number with your drinks and tray and call it when your order is ready, at which time you return your number. If they're not busy, they usually bring your food out to you. There's cold water and cups above the trash bin which you can help yourself to. FOOD// I ordered thick noodles with the carbonara sauce. My friend ordered the vongole bianco. I liked mine a lot, both the sauce and the fresh pasta. The pasta is more akin to an egg noodle, like a lighter lo mein noodle. The vongole bianco was not bad, but too rich in butter for me. The focacia was nice and chewy with a firm and robust crumb and salty crust. Wish they had provided complimentary olive oil for the bread to balance it out. STAFF// Nice, friendly, and make an effort to help. SPACE// This place is sit yourself. It's small and tight, but baskets are provided for you to put your belongings next to you.
