There are more good BBQ joints popping up in Tokyo. But there is still one cuisine that is hard to find- namely Jerk chicken. There used to be one I used to go to In Ebisu but it was shut down almost decade ago. Aaand my friend had this place under the sleeves when we were looking for a place to eat in Shibuya after 22:00. I almost called him out for not letting me know sooner. But hey, I'm just glad that he disclosed it in the end. We already had a dinner elsewhere earlier, so we kept it light and concise - ordered a plate of jerk chicken. Man... as soon as I had this spice overload flavor I hadn't had for so long, I was sold immediately. In general, Jerk chicken tends to be dry but this was juicy AF and was packed with flavor. Boy, I need to come back to this place soon because I didn't have enough!

Good Wood Terrace is an excellent little "Hole in the Wall" kinda place. Dark interior, little tables and awesome jerked chicken and jerked pizza. There's a DJ in the back (which isn't far from the front) playing everything with a raggae twist, such as a Carribean version of "Everything I Own", originally by David Gates & Bread. "Band On The Run", an original by McCartney in Raggae will get your head bobbing and weaving. The food is awesome and cheap, ranging from ¥880 (most dishes) to ¥1500. But the atmosphere is better.

The best Caribbean/Jamaican food you can find around Tokyo. I had a party here once and I highly recommend it. The drawbacks are: 1) Can get a bit smokey 2) A bit difficult to find from Shibuya station But overall very good food and great staff.

I'm gwan give dem 5 stars! If you have ever seen the movie "Cool Runnings" then I, like most non Japanese, did do the equivalent to what the Olympic bobsled community in the film did when they saw some Jamaicans bobsledding. I laughed. However, it was the smell of the burnt wood, the music, the menu (a lot of non jerk classics like Ackee and Saltfish), and the detailed decor that steered me away from the sushi spot I was headed for. I decided to take a chance. Being as culturally far away as possible from Jamaica, I figured it was either going to be really bad or quite good. And figuring that the Japanese usually do their homework when it comes to...well, anything, how could it be bad? Well, my foodtuition was spot on. I have been to Jamaica twice and I'm the kind of person that likes to go where the locals go to eat, so I have had some really good jerk. If this place were in Jamaica, I assume it would have gotten about 3-4 stars, but I wouldn't be surprised if some would have given it 5. The jerk is not spicy, but there is a lot of flavor. I can taste the allspice, and the herbs in the marinade. These guys are not playing around. Either an expat from Jamaica opened this joint or they just really did their homework. Big Up!!!

Excellent food! I was visiting the area and being Jamaican myself wanted to see what they had to offer. I was not disappointed. The food was delicious and the service was also great. We met and chatted with the owner who was very gracious. This is a must stop if you are in Tokyo and looking for some variety in your dining options. They are a quick 5 minute walk from the Shibuya station and the prices are more than reasonable.

My daughter and I recently had dinner here during a trip to Japan over the Thanksgiving holiday. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. We had the Jerk Chicken and Jerk Pork loin. Located in the trendy and busy Shibuya area, it was a pleasant surprise to find such tasty Caribbean food in Japan. I highly recommend this place if you need a break from Japanese food.

Vibe was great! A conversation with the dj revealed his English was limited but it had no effect on the music he was spinning. It took me back to my partying days, simply heavenly. Food was good too; as I was raised by my jamaican grandma seeing pimento seeds and thyme in the rice n peas made me think this is authentic.
