01/27/2020 It was my first night on my two week adventure in Asia with Tokyo being my first stop. It took my friend and myself a while to decide on what we were going to do as it was already the late evening. We wanted dinner and so we walked around the immediate area just after the JR station in Shibuya and found this off-shoot of Ippudo. I recognized the logo but was not aware that this is a branch of Ippudo. It was rainy and so we settled here after taking out some cash from a nearby ATM. Quite small but cozy as you enter the restaurant. You are immediately greeted by a friendly host and is asked to select your order directly from the self service machine. The machine itself took both cash and contactless payments (Suica, etc), and best of all it included English as a language option. After your order is placed, you are then seated right in front of the chefs in an open kitchen area. We ordered beer, gyoza and their signature ramen. My friend only had one word to describe his bowl of ramen, and it was BOMB. I on the other hand have a bit more to say; the broth was luscious, creamy, and everything from the meat to the noodles were cooked to perfection. I have had Ippudo in the United States (New York & San Francisco), as well as Tokyo, but this off-shoot location in my opinion produced a far better bowl of ramen. If you are in the Shibuya area, and it is after all a shopping and dinning district, do come here for a bowl of ramen. You will not be disappointed.

Located very close to the Shibuya Crossing, it's worth a stop. The restaurant is on ground level and located across of Genki Sushi. The restaurant is very modern and offers a good amount of seating at the counter(no booths or tables available). Like a lot of ramen shops, you select your items using a ticket machine. You get your seats then hand your tickets to the staff. We were served our ramen very quickly. We got the spicy nakasu black, nakasu black , and the nakasu black special. All were delicious! The broth was not as bold in flavor as we'd like but we were still very happy with our meals. Staff was very friendly and prices are very reasonable. Stop by when you're in the area.

Ippudo Ramen!! This is a pretty solid ramen chain in Japan (besides Ichiran ...) We were excited that there was a location Shibuya just a few minutes from our hotel. First off, the ramen noodles texture is perfect and delicious. The broth is very flavorful (though there are a few bits of fat in it, which gives the broth a deeper flavor) When you're eating ramen in Japan, you gotta have their soft boiled egg because it is out of this world and not like the ones you eat in the USA. Japanese eggs taste much more fresh and jam-packed with flavor in ramen. Trust me. Prices are reasonable and service is pretty quick. Highly recommend.

Sad, Coming in I had I guess pretty high expectations for Ippudo. Not sure if we went to the wrong branch in Tokyo, but my girlfriend and I had a pretty average experience here. I guess, coming from the states, we heard amazing things about Ippudo and wanted to try the "real thing." Not gonna lie though, the ramen here was pretty decent. The whole process of ordering from a ticket machine and waiting for your mea to come to your counter is pretty cool. And overall, the broth was creamy and the ingredients were fresh. However, it just didn't blow our minds. The ramen was definitely comparable to what we'd get in the U.S. Although at least we didn't have to wait! Don't want to bring your hopes down when it comes to Ippudo, but it just wasn't that amazing. I kinda wished my girlfriend and I chose Ichiran over Ippudo, but at least we can say that we tried it. I give it a "Tolerable, sufficient for sustenance" experience. Eat well and prosper,

This is one of my favorite chains in Japan. This one in the main part of Shibuya, though, is just slightly different than the usual Ippudo. For some reason, they do not have fried gyoza! :( I love those bite sized yummy fried gyoza almost more than the ramen. They do however, have boiled dumplings. We came in on a Friday night and bought our meal tickets via the machine. We were seated right away and the ramen came out relatively quick. In the short time it took our ramen to arrive tho, the restaurant became packed! They only have a small number of seats, formed in a L shape around the kitchen. The ramen itself was just as delicious as the standard Ippudo. I did notice however, that this one has a lottttt of little chunks of fat floating in the soup (probably why its so delicious!). Overall, I recommend! Just try not to drink all of your soup lol.

Now THIS is good ramen. Absolutely so delicious I am almost at a loss for words. After finishing every last drop of my bowl I was overcome with faint sense of sadness because it was gone. The broth is rich and extremely flavorful. The noodles are also the perfect texture and the soft boiled egg is creamy and delicious. Together it was a symphony of flavors. Similar to many ramen shops in Tokyo, there is a vending machine near the entrance where you select the ramen you want plus other additional items. Once you put your payment into the machine, it prints you out a ticket which you then give to the staff. Within moments of being seated they will bestow upon you a steaming, delicious bowl of ramen. If I had to compare Ippudo and Ichiran I would definitely have to go for Ippudo. I like Ichiran don't get me wrong, but it didn't leave as much of an impact on me as Ippudo. I love Ippudo and can't wait to come back!

It's snowing outside with record low temperatures and we are walking around aimlessly in search of something to warm us up for lunch. After taking our obligatory photos next to Hachiko and having no idea where to go next, we are saved thanks to yelp! Ippudo was the perfect stop for a delicious bowl of Tonkostu ramen. Note: The pork broth is on the thicker side, border-lining a gravy texture, so it's good if you are famished ;)

Decided to stop by ippudo for some a light snack (shared a ramen and some dumplings). My first encounter with ippudo was in New York City so I was having high expectations. We ordered the dark soy sauce ramen (forgot the name) with an extra order of soft boiled eggs. It has a heavier taste, the ramen noodles were cooked well. I do prefer a lighter soup base for my ramen but this was still quite good. Timing wise, we went around 4pm so it was not packed at all. You order on a machine and then hand the slip over when you enter. The staff was very friendly and checked up on us since we were in front of the machine for quite some time.
