its actually just fine, one time thing, i tried quite lot of omakase, this is ofcouse fresh fish but not a wow or something similar. the staff here are not that friendly, they kept force me about not photo sign, i understand 100% but a selfie is also not allowed?

Gorgeous sushi in a nice setting with friendly chefs who can speak a bit of English, and excellent service from start to finish. Lunch is particularly of great value.

The cut of the fish is spot on, not just high quality fresh fish but the cut affects everything. And the rice is perfect for me. Every bite is a delight.

Amongst trying other Michelin from Kyushu to Hiroshima to Sapporo (we hit 10 stars during last trip), I come back here time and time again every time we go to Japan. I do normally try out some other Michelin sushi places, there's one other place I love but they only do dinner.

It is best described in a single sentence. The BEST sushi that I have ever eaten. Sat at the 'counter' for an amazing experience. The chef was personal and engaging. The atmosphere was semi-formal,  appropriate for the restaurant. It was expensive but worth every dollar. If you have only one special meal in Japan,  make sure this is the restaurant.

Food, the sushi is outstanding. Perhaps some of the best bites of food I have ever had. If traditional nigiri sushi is what you want, you will find that here. The staff and the sushi chefs are not very friendly however.  They certainly were skilled but the overall vibe of the restaurant felt cold and unfriendly.  Probably the least enjoyable 2+ star michelin restaurant I have ever experienced. Generally places with even one michelin star makes you feel very welcome and comfortable. The food was definitely 2 star caliber. But felt rather like they were doing us a big favor to even let us try their food. It was probably just in my imagination, but I did not feel welcome there.

huge disappointments at sushi kanesaka during our trip in Japan.. Our first impression was really bad because our sushi chef was a nail biter with nasty cuticles and nail. I have been to many omakase places in my life and I have never seen a chef with dirty fingers. It just disgusted me.. sashimi cut was inconsistent, speed was way too fast in the beginning and we had to let chef to slow down which he did later. Other chef was laughing and giggling so loud (louder than customers) and we couldn't enjoy our dinner. Customers are expecting a lot when restaurants get two Michelin stars. Ambience, service and food have to be on point, especially when customers pay $$$. I personally don't think sushi kanesaka deserves two.. not even one Michelin star. It was the worst omakase I have ever had and was waste of $700.
