There’s two things to say about this place. One, the tonkatsu is outstanding. It’s so good and you have quite a few options to choose from. You can tell that a lot of care goes into the food you can feel it in the taste. Two, the owner is serious about his food. Some other reviewers have said that he’s not nice, but I just think he has a serious personality and is being himself. Maybe not typical but can’t be mad since the food is excellent.

Came for tonkatsu in Jiyugaoka with a friend. We went around 1pm mid week and luckily no wait. We had one 上ロス 定食 and one ヒレ & チキンかつ 定食. The set meals come with cabbage, rice and miso soup and total bill was just under ¥3,000.

The chicken had been seasoned (it was nice and brought out the best in the chicken flavour) and the pork rosu and hire(fillet) katsu were both good and well fried. The rice was good too. It's a great katsu place in the neighbourhood. Didn't know when I went but seems this place was listed on the Michelin Bib Gourmand.

If you love Tonkatsu and you’re visiting Tokyo, do not miss this place!!  A quick train ride from Shibuya to the cool suburb of Jiyugaoka and a short walk along a lovely Tokyo neighborhood far removed from the throngs of tourists brings the biggest reward of all - Tonkatsu Perfection! This is a small but tidy one-man shop with just 3 tables and a short counter. You will absolutely love the Tonkatsu and will be spoiled for life as you will not find better elsewhere. It’s just a matter of time before the folks @ Michelin discover this gem and the line will be even longer to enjoy this special treat. Go and enjoy!

We had an extremely unpleasant experience yesterday during our visit to this restaurant. The establishment had an long wait time of approximately an hour. While we were waiting, our small children needed to use the restroom, so I briefly stepped out of the queue to take them to a nearby supermarket. However, shortly after, the restaurant owners confronted my wife in an aggressive manner, insisting that she could not be in the queue alone. Shortly thereafter we came back from the supermarket, but the owner emerged again, without considering our explanation, threatened us and began shouting aggressively. This incident left our children and my wife genuinely frightened, leaving us with no choice but to leave the restaurant. We believe it's imperative for the Michelin guide to reevaluate its recommendation for this establishment. Customers should never have to endure such threatening behavior from the owner of a restaurant. We hope that our feedback will contribute to a safer and more enjoyable dining experience for future patrons.
