Absolutely mind blowing.  Both the food, the people and the service.  I don’t write reviews but I simply have to here.

During the dinner my gf had a health issue (unrelated to this restaurant) that after I raised to the staff, they took very seriously and immediately had their limousine ready to take us to the pharmacy along with a member of their staff to help with translation!  They kept the food warm for us and waited until we got back to continue.  They made sure we were cared for until we left and then had their limo take us back to our hotel.

The food was amazing, the chef spoke good English.  They didn’t charge us anything for all of their extra services.

The chef, the staff and the manager were all extremely friendly, warm and professional at the same time.  Thank you and we will definitely come back.

It's been my tradition to take my wife to teppanyaki for her birthday. And this year, I chose this venue. Reading many well received reviews here on Yelp, I found it surprising that it never got in my radar. I made the reservation along with the course menu(¥19800 per person) via ikkyu.com. It was located in the area of Roppongi where I hardly put my foot in. In fact, it was my first time. It has the bar area on the ground floor and dining area with big U shaped grill in the basement. Started off with the appetizer of "negitoro"(ground raw tuna) along with the various condiments. The presentation left the bigger impression than the flavor as they were stuffed in the curved boards. Quite unique. Then proceeded to the lobster. I can usually enjoy lobsters plain but whatever the black pepper sauce they came up with was out of this world. And last but not least, chateaubriand. Although the time I had it was so long ago, the experience was so mesmerizing that adding ¥1000 for upgrade made it feel very reasonable. And yeah... they were so tender and melted I my mouth. It was far more than worth of ¥1000, IMO. Staffs were very attentive and polite. This is a perfect place to impress your date.

六本木が最寄り。シェフは世界で活躍しこの地に出店。空間は最上級、半円のカウンター前で鉄板捌きを見ながら食事を楽しめる。会食で利用させてもらいゲストも満足だったと思います。英語対応可能なスタッフもいて、その方を始めとしたお店の方のホスピタリティも素敵でした。 単純に鉄板焼きだけではなく、鉄板で仕上げるアクアパッツァは耐火性のある透明な袋に入り調理されていく様も見ることができる。お肉はサーロインをチョイス、タレが各種ついていて色々な味を楽しめた。また利用させてもらいます。

As a Yelp elite I want to say this was the best meal of my life. We wanted amazing wagyu and our hotel, the Park Hyatt, recommended Morimoto and got us reservations. You sit down at one of two shared tables and watch the chef as he cooks. We got the morimotini and three of these apple flavored sake drinks that were out of this world delicious. We ordered 100g wagyu sirloin, 100g wagyu filet, and the soup of the day with garlic fried rice. The wagyu sirloin was my favorite bite and I had it with just a bit of Bolivian salt and it burst with the most flavorful buttery steak taste. The wagyu filet was also buttery and full bodied, I paired it with the house sauce that was complex and a bit nutty. The steak also came with a grilled onion quarter and some onion chips that we used to clear our palettes between steaks. For dessert we got the champagne chocolates that were very fudge like in texture. It was the most delicious meal I have ever had.

Konnichiwa, last night I was severely jet lagged and while I couldn't fully delight in the evening, the impeccable service and exceptional skills of the teppanayki craftsman Chef Hiro, of Atelier Morimoto XEX in Tokyo, had me appreciative and engaged. While in Roppongi Hills for business, there were two things I wanted to do before leaving Japan. 1.) go to Disneyland Japan and 2.) eat at chef morimoto's restaurant. I don't know if it was too many episodes of iron chef....I lie. I know it was too many episodes of iron chef BUT I can't be the only one who watches these shows and wonders "is this ish really any good or are folks just scared of losing their job if they say it tastes like ant booty". Oh...I am? I can live with that. I digress... So Xex was on the list! Now, I don't eat sushi. I'm more of a sushi adjacent kinda gal (i.e. Shrimp tempura sushi rolls...lol). Don't judge me. But in Japan how can one not?!?! Easy. Tell them you ain't bout that life and they will do for you what they did for me! Each course was flavorful and cooked perfectly. Some dishes (for the sushi adjacent folks like myself) were vegetarian but made to look like what everyone else in our party was eating so my "not today" moment was between me and the waiter! 'Preciate ya. Some took me out of my box like the shark soup. Others were right up my alley, grilled lobster. All elegantly prepared and served with pride. After we finished our meal and some amazing Morimoto branded sake, we all retired to the upstairs cigar and sake lounge for dessert (ginger ice cream thing...delicious) and relaxation. Memorable experience for a business trip.

We ate at New Year's Eve here on the recommendation of our hotel concierge. Given that many spots tend to be closed around the turn of the year, we decided to give it a shot, even though the Morimoto brand (at least to this American) conjures less-than-fond memories from the Philadelphia restaurant that is under his name. The restaurant entrance is pretty innocuous and could be easy to miss, but keep an eye out for the Kanji characters that spell Morimoto (it isn't large, so do watch carefully), and you will find yourself there quickly enough. The entire restaurant is pretty dimly lit, which is something to keep in mind as you descend downwards to the main dining area (there's a small bar at the entrance; everything else is a floor or two below ground level). The main dining room consists of a couple of semicircular hibachi-like grills, along with a handful of booths and tables behind for larger parties who don't necessarily care to watch their food made closely. As we were early (a 6 PM reservation), we got to see our entire meal effectively prepared start to finish without interruption from other folks, as our entire seating area was filled by the time we were done (closer to 8 PM). The drink selection is decent - a lot of sake options for those who are in the know, and with a wine selection that isn't all that great - but I went with Rogue Brewing's Morimoto-themed pilsner, which, despite the silly price I enjoyed a bunch. It's basically a Japanese-style pilsner, but with a much fuller flavor and body than the likes you would get from an Asahi or a Sapporo. You can order a la carte or from 3 tasting menus; we ended up going with the least extensive tasting menu (we were still pretty full from lunch earlier in the day) and adding in some sauteed vegetables. I would say that the food here is definitely priced on the higher end relative to what I feel the quality was like. The sauteed vegetables were delicious and immaculately presented (like the rest of the food), but at 2,000 yen - you're paying for more than the taste of it. The tasting menu started out with a very lightly fried cod (or crab?) cake, served atop tomato and basil sauce - not the most 'Japanese' accompaniments but still quite good nonetheless. Next up was an assortment of raw vegetables that were dipped in a very good (what tasted like) a porcini mushroom-based sauce that, if I did not know better, I would have just eaten like a soup. I very much enjoyed this, and given I was a generous dipper, the chef still refilled by dipping dish (heated by a candle underneath it) with more. The fish course (I forget exactly which one it was, but it had a crispy skin and a white filet) was quite good, if perhaps a little overcooked and served with the same sauce as the fishcake from earlier...a little unoriginal on that front, but still tasty despite the small portion. We finished up with the wagyu beef filet, and that was exquisitely good. Steak is just done so well here in Japan, and this was no exception. It was served with garlic chips (basically fried slices of raw garlic) and various items to add to it - a house dipping sauce infused with nuts and fruit (with a soy sauce base), regular soy sauce, wasabi, and salt. The house sauce was very good, and everything else worked as well - a testament to how good the steak on its own was done. The main complaint, again, is sizing...we each got the equivalent of two thin strips sliced into 4 pieces. That felt extremely parsimonious as a finishing to a 4-course tasting menu that costs nearly 10,000 yen per person. Despite the sizing complaints - don't plan on walking away from here stuffed unless you want to empty the wallet a bit - the quality is top-notch here, and it's great to see this style of cooking up close and personal...it makes for a severe (in a favorable way) contrast to the casualness of the approach and the quality of the food at hibachi-style meals that are served at restaurants in America. I would come back to try out some of the other cuts of meat, but I would probably excise the 'fat' (ironic pun intended) from the menu and simply order what I wanted to try a la carte instead.

We spent our last night in Tokyo here. The atmosphere was really amazing. We ate at the sushi bar. Our chef was basically our own personal chef, and he was very nice. We got a bunch of raw seafood samplers, sushi, green tea, etc. We ended up spending about $140 per person, but that's because we ordered a few extra pieces of sushi. I think the prices start at about $95 per person

Love this place. My favorite of all the 5 wonderful dinners in Tokyo. The people are wonderful, the service impeccable, the sushi perfect. To be honest I don't know exactly what we ordered, but it was a full course. They just kept bringing out wonderful small portions until we were done. I ordered sake and asked the server what she recommended, she recommended the Morimoto brand sake, and it was a huge hit. Very delicious.

The SETTING: Dinner with my wife (final night in Tokyo) The VIBE: 4 Stars - You sit in front of the Wok Benihana style, but everything is much nicer. It is one large semicircular wok serving 18 people. Upstairs is a cigar/cocktails lounge where dessert is served for guests. It was very nice for us and the two other honeymooning couples since no one else was up there and/or smoking. The SERVICE: 3.5 Stars - Good service is the standard in Japan, so this restaurant merely met our expectations. They had limited knowledge of the tasting menu options, but were very nice and attentive. The FOOD: 3 Stars - Based on other reviews, we were hoping for better. Everything was good but nothing was great, and for $95/person (just for the food), we were hoping for at least some great. The Bottom Line - a nice meal that we were hoping would be better for our final night. We don't regret the spend or the experience but probably would not go back either.

Service awful and terrible food. We were excited to try Morimotos restaurant in Japan and were very disappointed. They cooked plastic bags on the tepon grill with the food inside. Waitress was very rude. Do not recommend to anyone. For a party of 6 they gave us one menu (to the only man in the group).
