Absolutely one of the unforgettable experiences I ever had visiting an art museum. The current exhibit of the French American artist Louise Bourgeois’s work was stunning! It was well curated, and leveraged multiple media to tell the artist’s life story. We only had three days in Tokyo but the 3 hours in the museum as well as in the observation hall with a panoramic view of Tokyo were well spent.
The museum is on the 52nd floor of a building which has all sorts of stores, office spaces and restaurants. It’s also right outside the subway so very convenient.

I try to go to the Mori Art Museum regularly. Their special exhibitions don’t disappoint - Today, I saw a definitive Louise Bourgeois retrospective and it was outstanding! Of course, you should also go to the City View space - wonderful views of Tokyo….

Cool contemporary art museum in Tokyo that does different exhibits at different periods throughout the year.

When I went they were doing the works of Louise Bourgeois, a highly decorated and renowned French artist.

The admission price is a little high though at 2000¥ per adult.

I came specifically for the Louise Bourgeois show. The museum was beautifully laid out and the exhibit was so intentional. The process of getting your ticket and finding your way up and into the museum was very easy for non japanese speakers. I highly recommend it to any travelers heading to Tokyo.
