My better half mentioned this is a private museum and known to be a garden oasis as well.  She got it right again.  We bought tickets at the door.  There's a minor discount if you buy tickets online.  We headed to the garden upon entry.  It's nice to take a stroll away from the maddening crowds and enjoy a well-manicured Japanese garden in the heart of the city.  The museum itself has a few galleries/rooms containing ancient artefacts collected from nearby Asian countries

Wish we saved more time to spend in the garden!! The museum was extremely beautiful, especially in the rain. Definitely going back to revisit the trees and stone sculptures in the garden one day. No photos in the exhibition but it allowed us to take more time to look at the artworks.

Such a nice exhibition! Lovely building and a nice garden. I also had breakfast at the café...delicious. It was a very nice morning. The art and the museum shop are definitely worth a visit.

Beautiful find in Tokyo, we found it randomly and were delighted. The museum has a big and beautiful forest/garden where you would like to stay for hours. The exhibits are small but really interesting and well curated. The shop is simple but the most interesting museum shop I've seen, with a great selection of art books and prints.

A truly stunning museum with both permanent exhibitions showcasing clocks and china potteries, as well as a temporary exhibition showcasing paintings and artworks related to summer and autumn seasons.

The highlight though is definitely the exterior Japanese garden which has a lake as well as lots of greenery with some traditional looking abodes and a shrine. A truly serene place worth to spend some time in.
