Takashita street is a vibrant shopping street in Harajuku. We went during the day on a weekday and it was still very crowded but not too suffocating. Definitely a "young" vibe here.

There are so many unique and quirky stores and fast-fashion shops that are somewhat overpriced. I didn't see too many restaurants as there are mostly cafes and street food/snack shops. They also had a lot of animal cafes (pig cafes, otter cafes, etc.). We didn't buy anything but it was so much fun to walk around and pop into different stores.

Harajuku is probably a place I'd avoid but I wanted to at least feel the atmosphere once on this trip. I'll bundle up my photos here.

It's definitely touristy, and no lack of loud and bright features.

There are stuff to buy. Cute apparels, nice looking tees, popular snacks like crepes, 10yen coin cheese pull bun, potato twister, the rainbow candy floss from Totti Candy Factory. Nostalgia hit me when I found the colourful candy that I ate when I was a kid, will caption it.

We took a breather midpoint at non other than Xing Fu Tang. Why a Taiwan bubble tea of all places right? There are no more outlets in SG, so I'm just drinking for old times sake.

And my brother still owed me a visit to mipig cafe.

If I was 20 years older, this place would appeal to me more. I would recommend my couple friends with kids in tow to visit. Only if it's less crowded. We were crazy to visit on a Sunday.

Visited March 2024. I ended up just walking through because there were so many people. I know Harajuku is a really popular spot for it's youth culture shops, cafes, and colorful foods, but I didn't think it was worth waiting in all the lines.
