Located in a quieter part of Osaka, Sushi Yuden is such a gem!

The chefs were friendly and the attention to detail was top notch. For me, a Michelin restaurant must prove itself on its service. My family member was sniffling a bit on that day due to the cold and when the chef noticed this, he called the server to bring us a box of tissues. When my family member stepped out of the restaurant for a while to blow his nose so as to not disturb other diners, the server ran out with an ashtray thinking that he went out for a smoke break! This really shows that they care and want to ensure their diners have the best and most comfortable experience possible.

Each dish was prepared and executed perfectly. At the end of the meal, we even stayed back for a while and had a lovely chat with the chefs. Will definitely visit again when I’m back in Osaka!

My partner and I booked the omakase course at Sushi Yuden for 8:15 PM on January 10, 2025, through PocketConcierge, and it was truly the perfect way to conclude our Japan trip. This dining experience exceeded all our expectations and is, without a doubt, one of the best omakase courses and sushi meals I’ve ever had.

The ingredients were incredibly fresh, and each dish, with generous portion sizes, was thoughtfully prepared and presented to bring out the best flavour of the ingredients.

The service was top-notch and exceptional. Chef Nishimura-sama was not only highly skilled but also friendly, kind, and funny. He went above and beyond to ensure we were enjoying every moment, even taking the time to show us the actual tuna used and explain the different cuts featured in the dishes. We also really enjoyed chatting and hearing his stories and experiences in Australia, which made the meal more fun and enjoyable. He even went through the back door to say good bye to us at the entrance which was very surprising and also heartwarming.

The assistant chef was equally attentive and considerate, going out of his way to explain the ingredients in Japanese, English, and even with pictures to ensure we fully understood and appreciated each dish. Throughout the meal, he made sure we were comfortable and well cared for.

There was also another staff member who greeted us and helped us with putting away our coats. He was also extremely friendly, kind and attentive.

Sushi Yuden is undoubtedly one of the most memorable highlights of our trip. It fully deserves its Michelin star for its exceptional food, outstanding service and atmosphere.

I highly recommend visiting here to experience all this for yourself.

We had an lovely omakase experience at one Michelin star restaurant Sushi Yuden to begin our Japan holiday - i would highly recommend booking well in advance as they only seat 9 people. They have two dinner sessions at 5:30pm and 8:15pm. We booked this around one month before using pocket concierge via American Express which was easy to use and you prepay.
For 28,330 yen per person for the omakase, you get around 25 courses (including starters and dessert). You are definitely full afterwards and it’s a fair price for one-Michelin food and service.
Whilst the menu and nigiri options change slightly depending on seasons and what Chef Nishimura desires, the menu for us consisted of japanese abalone, a generous amount of uni (sea urchin) and toro which were some of the highlights.
I really enjoyed this omakase experience - I personally prefer nigiri focused omaskases, which this experience fulfilled for me so we were very happy. You could tell the quality and the freshness of all ingredients - as they are sourced fresh each morning from the market.
Whilst Chef Nishimura does not speak a lot of English, he and his team (himself, his apprentice sous chef and one waiter) made a big effort to talk to everyone and explain what we were eating and what each fish was.
There was no pretentious nature about Nishimura, he was incredibly humble - and even took the time to chat with my mother and I after everyone had left for half an hour which was a testament to his down to earth character. We really appreciated him taking the time to talk to us as well as the rest of the team. He even took us by surprise by taking the back exit to come to the front of the restaurant to bid us farewell.
I will note that in the dark, it was a bit hard to spot the restaurant as there is not a lot of signage and in a quiet area so I would suggest using photos of the front of the store from reviews to help!

Some of the best sushi I've ever tried. Generous with the high quality products (even adds twice as more sea urchin as usual) and very friendly chefs.
The Michelin star is well deserved.

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant. When we entrusted the chef with our meal, they surprised us with a completely unexpected and delightful course. Despite being foreigners and not understanding Japanese, the chef made sure that assistants explained the fish and ingredients using illustrated pictures. Chef-owner Nishimura-sama was incredibly kind and engaging, making everyone feel welcome with small talk and warm eye contact. The assistant chef, Haraguchi-sama, was also very humble and friendly. I believe this restaurant will be a memorable stop for anyone, whether you’re a local or a visitor.
