Walking into Bol felt like stepping into a comfortable modern peranakan building were absolutely breathtaking, and the warm greeting from the beautiful host immediately put us at ease. We opted for the Trove Menu, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable dining experiences I’ve had in Malaysia.

The meal started with the Rojak Tart—a playful yet sophisticated take on a local favorite. The crunch of roasted peanuts paired with the tangy rojak dressing was perfection. Next up was the Bibik’s Taco, a dish that made me smile with its clever use of charcoal “kapit” and zesty calamansi gel.

The Chilli Crab Orb was a showstopper—the sesame glutinous sphere cracked open to reveal a burst of rich chilli crab, and the coral tuile added a delightful crunch. For the main course, I chose the Halibut Limau Purut, and it was divine. The pan-seared halibut was perfectly cooked, and the limau purut curry added a bright, citrusy note that tied everything together.

Dessert was a dream. The Trois Bonbons was a trio of indulgence—the keluak toffee pudding was rich and comforting, the coconut ice cream was refreshing, and the compressed fruits added a burst of freshness.

What made the evening truly special was the chef Khian’s visit to our table. His passion for reimagining Asian cuisine was evident, and his warm demeanor made us feel like honored guests.

If you’re looking for a place to impress international friends or simply want to treat yourself to an unforgettable meal, BOL ticked all the box for me, it is the place to be. It’s not just a restaurant—it’s an experience.

The food was well presented and the flavours exciting although not 100% to my liking. Some of the plates were truly delicious, my favourite was the braised quail sou.

The service was nothing short of impeccable. The executive chef moving about and talking about to the guests was a nice touch and he even gave us a nice little gift on the way out.

All in all a good experience and despite the cost it was good value.

An experience!! One of the best restaurants I've ever been to!.
Food was impeccable 100/10, every dish was absolutely delicious with such thought into every ingredient and it all matched so well. Roughly $330 aud for 2 with wine matching which is a steal.
Staff were lovely/attentive/charismatic, chef spent a lot of time with the diners explaining the food and was so lovely, funny, thoughtful during the whole experience.  The place is so beautiful too!

The food was excellent.  Interesting take on traditional dishes done with a unique flair.  Cocktails were good and flavourful without being overpowering in sweetness.  Our hosts were lovely, sharing their own takes on why certain dishes were prepared the way they are.

All in all a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience.  Looking forward to my next visit.

Also a nice venue for private functions, although traffic and parking can be a challenge during rush hour.

The food is fresh and the ingredients are of top notch quality. Personally, some dishes were a miss for me, but that’s more of a personal preferences but it all came together nicely, like a well rehearsed choir. Go for the wine pairing and add on one of their cocktails to go with the dessert.
