I’ve been patronizing this BKT place since 2019, and it’s my absolute go-to every time I’m in town. It’s great to see that they’ve revamped the place—it’s now more ventilated and has more tables, making the dining experience even better.

One thing I really appreciate is that the soup is refillable, and the staff does it automatically without you even needing to ask. The service is fast and efficient, which is always a plus.

Considering they’re already on the Michelin Guide, the prices are very reasonable. While I did notice a slight drop in the food quality compared to before, it’s still very tasty in my opinion.

It’s worth to pay a visit if you’re in the area.

Food: personally think that the food taste better at this branch. The white pepper pork tripe soups taste unexpectedly good.

Service: it was disappointing, we clearly placing our order but it ended up with the wrong dishes coming up and dishes not being served.

Atmosphere: frankly speaking it was unsatisfactory, we can see the dirty plate in front of our table and it somehow makes you loss of appetite.

Personally think that the price is reasonable. It costs us RM110++.

The ginger wine prawns were outstanding—perfectly fresh prawns complemented by finely shredded ginger and a rich, flavorful wine sauce. The pig stomach soup was equally delicious, with just the right amount of peppery kick and a generous serving of tender stomach and ribs.

The dry bak kut teh was a highlight as well. Each piece of meat was perfectly cooked and well-seasoned, with the cuttlefish adding a delightful umami taste. The portions were generous, and the pricing is very reasonable considering the quality of the dishes.

However, a couple of drawbacks to note: parking can be a nightmare, especially during peak hours. We arrived at 5:30 pm, and the street parking was already full. Additionally, the restaurant can get a bit stuffy and hot.

This place is very popular, so we came around 5pm.

The Oil Rice (RM 2) is pretty good, filled with fried shallot.

One portion of soup Bakuteh (RM 21). We mistakenly order the stomach, but it is still pretty decent for someone who doesn't eat intestine. The soup is clear and pretty good, feels heavy but still refreshing. Dry Bakuteh (RM 21) has good portion of meat and very fragrant. Yau Char Guai (RM 3) and Toufupok (RM 5) are decent. Chinese Tea is RM 2 per seat. 6% SST.

I think it is definitely pretty good Bakuteh, seems to be a Michelin restaurant as well. There is an equally popular Hokkien Mee with steam fish next door.

For Michelin graded restaurant, I would definitely expect more. For one, it should be genuinely tasty on its own rather than relying on MSG. I am equally surprised those who gave positive reviews here, don't you feel thirsty after eating? Lol.
