To be absolutely clear, some of the best Chinese food we’ve ever had. The chicken and black bean, chicken in oyster sauce, and the spicy pork were absolutely delicious. Every dish was fantastic.

The service, though, was a real letdown. We arrived 30 minutes early, and even though we were seated at the same time as others, it was clear our order was taken last because we were tourists. We were ignored a few times, which was frustrating and took away from the experience.

It’s such a shame because the food is genuinely outstanding, and this place is a real gem. If you go, make sure you get there early.

The menu is extensive, and as a foreigner, I couldn’t understand everything, but the staff were incredibly helpful. They walked me through every dish, making sure I knew what I was getting into. The atmosphere is traditional Chinese, giving it that authentic, old-world charm.

The food? Chef’s kiss. Every plate we tried was spot on. Their signature double roasted pork with chili is a must-try; it’s no wonder this place is Michelin-recommended! The prices are reasonable, and they even accept credit cards, which is a plus.

The drinks were great too, perfectly complementing the meal. If you’re planning to visit, my advice: make a reservation and show up early. This place is popular for a reason, and you don’t want to miss out!

If you come here, it's better to come a few minutes before opening hours if you don't want to queue for a long time. The service is quite good and I think the food tastes delicious. I ordered stir fried French beans with minced pork and dried shrimp, chicken with sour plum sauce, and home recipe double roasted pork.

I stopped here because the line was long, and as that is generally a sign that it is good, it seemed like a smart bet, and it was!
I was solo, so I didn't get to try much. I had the chicken with sweet & sour sauce, steamed rice, and lime juice. It was all very good. I shared a table with the two ladies in line behind me, and they enjoyed their dishes very much as well.
This is an open air restaurant and has a history in Penang. This is a location they moved in to somewhat recently and it is very organized. The food took a reasonable amount of time to come out. And, considering the volume of people and food, they run very efficiently.
I would love to go again with a group to be able to try several dishes. They have a lot of choices, meat and vegetarian.
