Pros first: the sand and water are truly incredible at this resort. Some of the best snorkeling I’ve ever done. Also, the local staff were all super kind, friendly, and very attentive.

Cons: I had a VERY difficult time getting in touch via phone with the reservations team the day before my stay to confirm my stay. After finally reaching someone, they said the reservations team is really backlogged, so I should leave my name and number for the team to follow up. After 5 hours (again, I was within hours of going to the resort at this point) I got no response… very stressful! Esp considering you can only get to the island with the property’s plane! Moreover, the car pickup from the aman hangar in Manila came to the wrong lobby of my hotel in Manila, but I received an email with three different numbers to call should there be any pickup issues. After 15 minutes of waiting for the driver, I called all three numbers with NO ONE answering ANY of the three lines. I could not believe it. For a $2k per night resort, I would expect that bare minimum, folks answering the phone!!! Once I got to the island, I requested a meeting with Heinrich, the general manager, and he said that the central reservation line had some turnover, so he even had to send his personal assistant to Manila to help cover the volume, but that should be of zero concern to the customer! He also added that he expected the islands water to “calm me down” which was quite unnerving and not what I wanted to hear at the time. Lastly, I was served raw chicken twice while at the resort. After the second time, I decided to contact management and the chef came to verify, and after he himself saw, all he said was that he would “take it off the bill,” which was the bare minimum any place should do, but I felt that such a gross issue with my food was not handled in the way a top resort should handle that situation.

1.  The island:  It is literally an island paradise!  On the western side is a wide expanse of pristine, powdery white beach!  If you're living in a beach casita, or villa, then you have a direct access to this beach... easily over a kilometer long!  On the eastern side is a beautiful lagoon with bright and clear aquamarine  colored water.  You can see the water breaking on the coral reef a few hundred meters away from shore.  The beach is the the same powdery, white sand!  So much much more to say about Pamalican island!
2.  The accommodations:  We stayed on a beach casita.  Wow! It has  wrap around floor to ceiling windows with sliding doors and a view looking out to the beach!  Very spacious,  very comfortable king size bed, complete amenities  in the room, with good wifi connection, Bose portable Bluetooth speakers, TV (never used it), spacious, & clean bathroom with his and her sink, with complete toiletries,  spacious rainshower cubicle, big, comfy bathtub and lots of cabinets!
3.  The service & staff:  If you like to be pampered by ever smiling, happy to serve, and genuinely friendly people who call upon you by name and go out of their way to try and accommodate your vacation needs, then Amanpulo is where you want to be!  From the ever friendly beach sweeper to their
warm and gracious GM, they're all the same in their high quality of service and concern!
4.  The food:   There are about 4-5 food outlets to choose from!  Local Filipino cuisine, comfort foods like pizzas, burgers, etc. given the gourmet treatment, Mediterranean, & Japanese food are all very good tasting, served in proper proprtions, and excellent in presentation!
5.  The activities:  So, what do you want to do on your holiday in a tropical island?  Swim?  Kite surf? Salt water fishing?   Scuba dive?  Snorkle? Tennis? Pickleball? Mountain trail hike? Hilltop spa massage?  Stargazing? Intimate & personalized dinner for 2?  Or just relax and rejuvinate on a 10 star beach?  All of the above perhaps?  Then go experience Amanpulo!!
6.  The cost:  a very pretty penny!!

10 stars is given to our wonderful butler Marlon. He took care of my children like his own. Our children’s favorite activity on the island was calling “Marlon! Marlon!”And he could mysteriously come out from behind the bushes. 😂

One of the best places I've ever visited! Words can't capture the breathtaking beauty of the sunset. Despite the presence of other guests, it felt wonderfully secluded and serene. The atmosphere was incredibly calming, and I found myself completely immersed in the moment. The way the colors changed as the sun dipped below the horizon was mesmerizing. Definitely a place worth visiting again!

This hotel is not a 5 star hotel, but a 7 star hotel. One of the best exclusive resorts that I have stayed at. Jess, Gail, Chef Apple and our villa team were amazing and went above and beyond to make sure we had a memorable stay! Thank you again and we will definitely come back. Our staff worked so hard to ensure our stay was perfect
