Came here to celebrate my birthday. We liked the romantic atmosphere, the lights and decoration were insta worthy 🤩 lovely food, we definitely will return for their Astoria toast. Plus point for their service, they were attentive yet didn’t give too much pressure. We were served by Rus, he deserves a special mention for making our dinner experience so positive!

Brasserie Astoria had all the promise of being a refined dining experience, but unfortunately, it didn’t quite live up to expectations. While the ambience of the restaurant exudes a certain charm with its elegant decor, it’s the food and service that truly missed the mark.

Let’s start with the food. It was clear from the start that some dishes just didn’t deliver. The monkfish was perhaps the most disappointing. The texture was off, and the flavor lacked depth, making it feel rather flat and uninspiring. It wasn’t the kind of dish that made you want to savor every bite. Similarly, the Caesar salad was shockingly underwhelming. For a dish that’s meant to be simple yet classic, it was surprisingly lackluster — the dressing lacked the rich, creamy texture you expect, and the croutons were bland, taking away from the overall experience.

As for the desserts, they left a lot to be desired. The offerings were incredibly one dimensional, lacking the complexity and innovation you’d hope for in a fine dining setting. The flavors felt one-dimensional, and there was no real excitement or variation in the textures, making the sweet ending to the meal feel flat and uninspired.

To add to the disappointment, the service was also far from stellar. The staff seemed inattentive, which left us waiting longer to get their attention. When we did manage to get their attention, the responses felt rushed, lacking the warmth and professionalism you’d expect at a place like Brasserie Astoria.

While the concept of the restaurant is appealing and the setting is lovely, the food and service just didn’t hit the mark. It’s certainly not the experience we were hoping for, and I’d hesitate to recommend it when there are so many other places in the city that deliver both in terms of flavor and service.

Brasserie Astoria's ambience was definitely amazing, though the food did not completely hit the same high expectations.

We made a reservation on Valentine's Day hoping to order a few dishes across their ala carte menu, but was only told about 2 days in advance that only their 3 course set menu was available on the actual day.

We started off with a Stracciatella di burrata, which was a unique dish that had tartness from the fennel orange salad combined with the saltiness of boquerones.

For mains we got one each - Trout acqua pazza and grilled stuffed chicken, along with their signature garlic bread. The garlic bread was probably the most impressive dish of the entire meal, and I liked how the yuzu nicely balances out the richness of the brown butter and shiro miso on top of the garlicky flavours.

Trout was decent, I enjoyed the layered flavours of the tomato broth which subsequently gave the trout and mussels more dimension.

Grilled stuffed chicken was not so impressive, the texture of the chicken itself felt too mushy. The mushroom puree had strong flavours, which did help improve the taste of the chicken. I would have liked this dish more if they included more textures within the dish, so that this dish doesn't centre on the softness of the chicken.

Dessert was waffle ice cream, which would have been better if it was given one per pax and not just for sharing. The hazelnut waffle was my favourite part of the dessert, it had a nice crisp on the outside while retaining softness on the inside. The overall dessert was nice for the first few bites but ultimately felt too sweet as most of the dish's components have a different kind of sweetness to it. Perhaps including a tart or slightly bitter element to the dish would be great at alleviating the sweetness.

Lastly, the wines here tasted really plain for some reason? We got one glass of Rosé that was meant as an add-on to the set, with another glass of Sauvignon Blanc from their wine list. I am not entirely sure if it is the wine itself that is supposed to have such a muted flavour but I highly doubt that both wines, from different regions, would exhibit the same lack of taste.

Other than that, service was attentive and fast.

Very nice atmosphere, with very good food. Vibe is very chill . Love the fried calamari, garlic bread and the snow crab toast! Would love to come back! The red prawn pasta and the pecan tart was average for me, can skip.

Had an amazing dinner at Brasserie Astoria Singapore. The food was exceptional – highlights for me were the Toast Astoria, the Seafood Pepperonata, and the Iberico Pork Chop. Service was impeccable, with the team responding quickly and thoughtfully when I accidentally spilled a drink.

A special shoutout to Chloe, who was incredibly cheerful, attentive, and made our experience so enjoyable. She even surprised us with a complimentary tart for my birthday, which was such a thoughtful gesture. Great food, wonderful service, and a memorable dining experience.

Highly recommended!
