Food: Absolutely top-notch. The sashimi was incredibly fresh and definitely lived up to the one Michelin star hype. We left feeling completely satisfied and full.

Service: Exceptional. The server kept refilling my ocha and thoughtfully explained the dishes while providing tips on how to enjoy them best, as the chef was Japanese. Despite the language barrier, the chef was very friendly, which added to the experience.

They also surprised us with a special memento and gift for a birthday celebration, making it truly memorable. Highly recommend this place for special occasions!

We had omakase lunch on weekend. Food, atmosphere, service - all are up to the Michelle 1 star standard. Worth a visit if you wanna enjoy a pleasant omakase experience!

We had the Nigiri Omakase for lunch. The standouts were definitely the Aburi Ootoro which added a layer smokiness and dimension to cut through the fattiness of the tuna.

Compared to the likes of Shinji and other popular omakases in town, the flavour of the different components like the yuzu zest, red vinegar and wasabi were not too overpowering, allowing the flavour of the fish to really shine through. We also enjoyed the quieter ambience of the place. A big bonus is that the staff don’t sing happy birthday which came as a big relief to my husband (haha!). That said, we loved that they celebrated the occasion with the candles, a hand written card with a printed photo of us, a mini tea gift which was surprisingly our favourite tea brand (maruyama nori) from Japan! We also liked that they switched to Hojicha during dessert, which helped to offset the very sweet but delicious kyoho grapes and melon that we had.

The only letdown was ironically the green tea they served during service. It tasted watered down and it lacked umami!

We were the first to be seated at the restaurant when we arrived and it was awfully quiet. The chef didn’t small talk with us and hence the awkward silence. In fact, he didn’t engage much with us over the course of the meal which I thought was missing from a typical Omakase experience.

Food wise, it was of good quality and I can understand why they got the 1 michelin star.
From the whole course, nothing really blew my mind. It was simply good quality Japanese food.

Overall, I’m not sure if I would return because something seems to be missing from the experience.

I don’t go to Omakase often but I feel they lived up to the expectations of Michelin 1 star. We went for the Botan Lunch Menu on a weekend. Great service and dining experience. Food quality is definitely high standard. Warm towels were provided, hot tea was changed from time to time to ensure optimal temperature. Because it’s counter seats, so you get to watch how the chef prepare your food. Chef Takeshi-san was very focused on his preparation and the staff - Joy and Justea were friendly. Had a birthday celebration there and they were very thoughtful to give us a mini surprise (shall not spoil the surprise but it’s a nice gesture from the restaurant). Thank you!
