After having gone to similar named restaurant nearby and not being disappointed. We could not wait to go here and we were delighted after the visit.

The atmosphere upstairs is a bit dated. The service was amazing and attentive. Each dish prepared authentic, perfectly flavoured spiced.

Vegan Medu Vada Sambhar and Chutney - the chutneys and Sambhar were something else and Medu Vada, prefect.

Vegan Kara Pongal (savoury) - one of the best we have had. Not overly spiced and perfectly cooked and 3 chutneys and Sambhar just elevated the dish even more.

Vegan Rava Masala Dosa and Vegan Masala Dosa - our favourite dishes in a South Indian restaurant and did not disappoint. The same Sambhar and Chutneys complimented the dosa perfectly.

And then finally a Vegan Tomato and Onion Uttapam - enough onions and tomatoes on it cooked to perfection pancake. Very good with the chutneys and Sambhar

A must visit when in Singapore.

Excellent South Indian Restaurant with Great Variety & Friendly Staff

I had a fantastic experience at this Komala Villas South Indian restaurant! this is located at main road This is the original restaurant.
The menu offers a wide variety of authentic South Indian dishes, from crispy dosas and soft idlis to flavorful curries and aromatic biryanis. Every dish was fresh, well-prepared, and bursting with traditional flavors.

The service was exceptional—staff members were incredibly friendly, attentive, and always ready to recommend dishes based on our preferences. The ambiance was warm and inviting, making it a great place for both casual dining and special occasions.

If you’re a fan of South Indian cuisine or looking to try something new, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

Excellent & authentic Indian food. Located in a traditional type old building & food served here are really good.

It is one of the ancient traditional South Indian restaurant, though the food ordered are bit delayed the taste of the items severed are really very good.

Defenetly recommended for veg lovers.

Been here twice. Place was a little dirty and had some flies. Service was fast and good. Food is great, can't comment much as I am not Indian nor do I eat Indian food often. Big portions. There's a sink for you to wash your hands.

I recently ordered from Komala Vilas, but the experience fell short of expectations.

The biryani was lacking in vegetables, which made it feel quite plain.

Additionally, they included a dry raw banana curry that didn’t complement the biryani or chapati well.

The packaging was also inconvenient, with curries packed in thin plastic bags that were prone to spilling, making it challenging to handle. So I had to go home and have the food.

It would be great if they could consider more spill-proof containers and improve the vegetable portion in their biryani.

Overall, a bit of a letdown, but I hope they can improve on these areas.
