I'm thrilled to have discovered National Kitchen, a true gem that serves up top-notch Peranakan food. Our recent dining experience was exceptional, with every dish exceeding our expectations.

We ordered a variety of classic Peranakan dishes, including the Beef Rendang, Ayam Buah Keluak, Assam Fish, Sayur Lodeh, and Chap Chye. Each dish was expertly prepared, with bold flavors and aromas that transported us to the heart of Peranakan culture.

The Beef Rendang was tender and rich, with a deep, spicy flavor that lingered on the palate. The Ayam Buah Keluak was equally impressive, with the chicken cooked to perfection and infused with the subtle, slightly sweet flavor of the buah keluak.

The Assam Fish was a highlight, with a perfectly balanced blend of spicy and sour flavors that complemented the delicate flavor of the fish. The Sayur Lodeh and Chap Chye were also delicious, with a lovely balance of textures and flavors.

But what truly impressed us was the dessert selection, which included a variety of traditional Peranakan sweets. Each dessert was expertly crafted, with a perfect balance of flavors and textures.

Overall, National Kitchen is a must-visit for anyone who loves Peranakan cuisine. The food is authentic, delicious, and expertly prepared, with a focus on using only the freshest ingredients.

Celebrated my sister birthday there, it was a wonderful dinning experience. We were greeted nicely by Yeong whilst we entered the restaurant, he was very cheerful and friendly staff there who served our table, recommended a few authentic nyonya dishes and surprised my sister with a birthday dessert. Definitely will come back again.

The food was pretty good, but it’s not as good as I was expecting because of how much height this place gets in the pricing.

Really cool venue, though inside the gallery. The restrooms are outside the restaurant so you get to walk through some of the other spaces.

Decent food but expensive and I would go to other places for local food especially chicken rice. I think it’s still worth a visit though.

It was a nice experience for a group dinner with a pre set menu. Location is good and it takes 12 minutes walk from number of hotels. Staff is well trained and food quality was also good. The interior is amazing with a view on the MarinaBay Sands. I don’t like the location within the building as you have to take the elevator and walk in the hallways to get to it. Other than this, all is well including wheelchair access. Price is high,  but justified with the quality food, service and atmosphere

The restaurant is located on the first level of the National Museum. The restaurant itself is beautiful, decorated with photos and artefacts from the chef's time growing up in Singapore. Extremely courteous and professional staff here. The service was undoubtedly excellent 👌🏾 the food got to our tables in no time! And it was all very delicious especially the beef rendang curry, hainanese chicken rice and the chicken satay. Highly recommended.
