Overall great experience staying in this hotel back in April; helpful & friendly staff from check-in to -out, room was tidy & quiet, great location with easy accessibility. Some minor issues with the room access card from time to time as it may take a couple more times to scan my way in, but nothing too annoying. Staff advised some facilities were effected due to renovation works but not an issue for my wife and I as we were out and about most of the time.

Looking forward to coming back here in future when renovation works are completed!

As many have experienced the Hotel was under renovation while we were here. We knew that when we booked through our travel agent. We thought the pool would be open but because of the weather works were delayed and it was closed. The very helpful and friendly staff upgraded our room to make up for this. All staff was really helpful and friendly. A special thanks to Justin. The beds were super comfortable and the location so close to the river and the Fort Canning  MRT really convenient. When all the work is finished it will be a top stay in Singapore.

We’re giving this hotel a low review for a number of reasons, but the staff definitely ISN’T one of them.

1. The check in/out process. Upper management needs to evaluate the check in process and the amount of time it takes to check in a single guest. On our first night, we arrived at the hotel at 9pm after an 8 hour flight and all we wanted was to go to our room and rest. We sat for around 15 min and then was told the system has crashed and the staff advised us to come back later. Upon returning, it took another 15 min to be checked in. In comparison to other hotels we have stayed at in Singapore this was significantly longer, there was frequently a backlog of guests waiting in the lobby to be checked in at all times throughout the day. Which also made the wait longer the get staff assistance.

2. Facilities being CLOSED. When checking in, the staff told us the pool and gym is closed and that it was in the fine prints of booking websites. However the fine print said that facilities will be “affected by the refurbishment” not closed. Which is definitely not the same. If we had known that the pool was completely closed, we would’ve booked elsewhere. This felt like false advertising as the pool was the main reason why we booked this hotel.

3. On our last night of the stay, we couldn’t access our room. The digital lock was broken, and of course we had to wait a long time for the staff to finish checking in guests at hand before he could let us into our room. It took almost 30 min for us to get back into our room with the back and forth at 11pm at night. Later, another staff came in to try and fix the lock inside our room. When we told him that we were tired and just wanted to be left alone, as we felt uncomfortable being 2 girls in the room to use the shower whilst a male staff was inside, his response was “okay but let me keep trying for another 5 min, if I can’t fix it I will come back tomorrow”. He was aware that we were checking out in the morning but was still persistent in trying to fix it at 11:30pm at night. The next morning, we discovered there were a few rooms near us that also had broken doors.

All in all, the room and other facilities were standard and what we expected, but the closing of the pool was highly disappointing and we felt misguided by the advertisement. All of that being said, the staff all treated us nicely and respectfully. We received 2 days of complimentary breakfast for the inconvenience, but felt like upper management really needs to step up their game.

It’s unfair that their front facing staff to have to put up with upset clients and potential abuse. While benefitting from false advertising.

My family and I stayed here for a week end of June. I would said it’s a little disappointing knowing that the hotel is undergoing renovation.

It doesn’t really affect our stay, the lobby just get a little awkward being a 4 stars. The staffs are amazing, helpful the porter/concierge assisted my mum and aunts who carried heavy bags.

We stayed 5 nights, and our housekeeper, Yinxia is stepping above and beyond in ensuring our room is comfy.

Thanks to everyone who made our stay comfortable.

The staff were really nice and friendly. Rooms were cozy and had a very nice view overlooking the river. Since we were hosting a surprise party, the staff were so kind to upgrade us to a suite which was the perfect space to host! Birthday boy was super pleased and we all had a good time. Great location too! Will definitely come back here for another stay
