I'm sure I would have enjoyed it a lot more had it not been so packed with people. It is a gorgeous village, but it was a lot smaller than I had expected. Other tourists were being quite loud.. I'd be a little on edge if I lived in one of the residences. Other than there being too many people to enjoy the place, the architecture - beautiful.

It's a village of traditional Korean housing called Hanok at Jongno district. You are able to enjoy not only the view of traditional Hanok but also the renovated version  of Hanok which most likely used for commercial such as coffee place, exhibition galleries, tea place , etc.
.I had to walk in the sun and severe humidity,(a very unusual weather now in Korea), but with the clean blue sky you meet after climbing the steep road to the top, you may feel every step made worth it. 😊
.You could try the route to Samcheong-dong at the end of Bukchon Village and then head to Insa-dong.
.One thing here is the tourists are not allowed to enter this village after 5pm. It's for the sake of the neighbors who actually lives here. I understand they would have been suffering from the noise all day of the tourists and disturbed by them entering their house (literally their house) without permission.

Very nice view, on a clear day with no clouds you can see Namsan Tower is the distance.
The hike up the hill is a bit tough in the summer but it's worth.
The area is a residential area so there are many signs and security asking for you to be quiet if you are too loud.
