Best place in Seoul to experience a truly local Korean BBQ. We were internationals, but that didn´t stop them from welcoming us and also offering to help with the meat. The meat quality was tasty as well as the amount, and all banchan were so good!
Can only recommend!

Good bbq place, full of local Korean people. The short menu is enough for a great meal. The listed price is similar to other places but the quantity is 30%+ more. What the other reviews don't explain is that the different meats suit different stovetops. This is compounded by the complete lack of English from the (very friendly) owner.

Both stovetops are charcoal heated, but we tried choosing pork belly and beef rib, which was rejected by the owner, and we did not understand the explanation at the time. Our pork belly and pork skirt come with the closed stovetop, and the pork and beef ribs we could not order come with the open stovetop for easier caramelisation.

The bonus soybean stew, steamed egg, and pork skin (favourite!) were all excellent. In my personal opinion, the pork skirt meat much more tender than the pork belly, but both are good.

One of my ultimate favourite restaurants in Seoul. Not as crowded as the downstairs restaurants, good food, view of the bbq area and the ajumma who owns it is so lovely.

Overall, I highly recommend it to anyone travelling and wanting to try some Korean bbq!

I’ve been coming here for 5 years and I still come every time I feel like having an authentic bbq in the country. The lady owns this shop is always warm and attentive. and she always greets me and remembers everything we talk about.

I personally do not write reviews because hoping my favorite spots won’t get too crowded but I feel I need to help her out a bit to sustain the business. So here I’m writing this in English hoping it won’t get too popular.

This place is located on the 2nd floor in the small alley way right above the busy and popular bbq on the ground floor which is a separate business(might be tricky to find if this is your first visit)
You’ll have to look for the sign 마초숯불갈비 right next a small bathroom to come up stairs. They use a legit wooden charcoal unlike most other bbq restaurants and reasonable prices with high quality meat with 된장soup on the house.

Another thing is that I personally don’t go to crowded place as people tend to talk louder in bbq places and this place has just enough people with views.

If you’re traveler or visiting here, you won’t regret it. I find this place should be Michelins guide.

This shop is located on the second floor. It was not crowded like the others on the ground floor. The meat did not taste fresh… Our stomachs are unwell today after having this for dinner last night
